RIP Grandpa.

Though I barely got to know you, you've taught me a lot in the short time that I was in Vietnam. You gave me hope that love can withstand anything. I wasn't a loveless person; I had a feeling what love was. But you showed me more. You showed me that after all your hard-earned battles, love still awaits. Love can never die. You were the only person to show me that marriage can last forever and the love would still be there.

I loved that moment when we were having a family photoshoot and you and grandma were so cute. You both acted like teenagers who have fallen in love for the first time. It was carefree and innocent. You shied away after grandma kissed you on the cheek and came back to her with a giant bear hug. It was a precious moment and we all just told you two to act your age...

I'm glad I got to see you before your time was up. But I'm depressed that I couldn't see you one last time before you slipped away. I'm going to miss you. I'm going to miss picking gooseberries and longans with you on your farm.

Please watch over us and guide us. Teach us to have a little faith and hope in love. May you rest in peace, grandpa.
