"I'm miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground I, I pray that something picks me up And sets me down in your warm arms..."Seventeen years old

This trip was a good idea. It was always cool to get away from home for awhile. Even better when it's on a private island your best friends dad owns and with your new girlfriend. Yeah, it was definitely a good time to be me. Not even Caleb being here was enough to bring me down. Which, weird that after everything happened he starts dating Lexi. He kept looking at me on the flight, but I ignored him and I'd managed to avoid him during the whole trip too. I didn't really want to talk to the guy. Well, maybe part of me did, just to get some answers. But mostly not

I frowned, watching her. She wiped her eyes and it was pretty much a given that she'd been crying. She started explaining that she'd had a bad day and wanted to hide from the world. Even though Lacey was saying she'd be fine, I had a feeling she was just telling me that. There was something going on with her, but I couldn't figure it out

“Yeah, I noticed.” I said, sitting up because she did. “I’m a pretty observant guy.” Turning to face her, I listened to her as she started explaining what was bothering her. "No party." I insisted. "That's why I didn't tell anyone, you or Lexi. I knew if Lexi got ahold of it, she'd made this big deal about it, and I don't really know anyone here besides you and her and Tyler and Lily, so it would just be really weird to have all these people I don't even know celebrating my birthday." I smiled sheepishly. "I get kinda shy around strangers." I admitted

"No party." I gave her a firm nod. "Check." I didn't really blame her, I probably wouldn't want a party with a bunch of strangers either. I only knew her, Lexi, Tyler and Lily too. I knew who Caleb was, but wasn't really up to partying. Besides the last time that guy showed up to a party it ended up being a fight. One I definitely didn't want a repeat of

"Hmm..." I said, snuggling against him more as I thought. He was right. Our little almost skinny dip was gonna be pretty hard to top. It was the first night we'd really even hung out and we'd gone right to the good part. I guess that's why they say you should take it slow or pace yourself or whatever
