Kacie had left at like 2 that afternoon with her doctor-boyfriend who was takin' her to Las Vegas for the weekend, leavin' her Santa Monica beach house all to me. She tried real heard to pretend like she was givin' me the speech, the one about not having any parties while she was gone, no drinking, and definitely no boys. But I could tell, Kacie

Duh. Of course, Lacey had no clue that I'd invited like half of LA, but what else was I supposed to do? It's not like we could really just throw a party with like a dozen people. I mean, I invited some of the girls from my mom's slayer school, and obviously my brother who was probably bringing some of his guy friends with him. Lacey invited a couple of friends too and then...I invited a lot more people. But hey, nothing says welcome to LA like a total rager.
Leaping up off the bed gracefully I struck a pose in front of the full length mirror right next to Lacey who was already admiring herself. "We are some sexy bitches. So get dressed and lets go already." I grinned at her, and looked myself over one more time. Mini skirt, check. Cute new designer top? Check. Designer heels? Check. If you looked at me once you'd never know that I could break you with my pinky finger. Sometimes it's so fun being me.
"I wanna pre-game it before my brother gets here to scowl at me. C'mon."

I pulled the hand beaded, sequined bebe strapless top from the hanger, slipping it over my head and wrangling it down over my shoulders where it settled just nicely at the top of my bra. A sparkly belt, and some spiked Louboutins and I was totally ready to "pre-game it" as Lexi said.
"What should we kick it off with?" I asked, having taken the spiral staircase steps two at a time. "Mama's a total lush, so I know how to make one Hell of a Cosmopolitan." I said, whippin' out a couple of martini glasses and the necessaries.

Oh well. I shrugged as we finally made our way downstairs. "Cosmo?" I grinned at her a little bit and giggled as she talked about being able to make a great one. Cosmos weren't a real drink. I liked the glass and everything but if you wanted to go for something girly margaritas were always the way to go.
"C'mon, we'll have plenty of time to drink real drinks when other people get here. I just wanna be warmed up." Pushing past Lacey I looked through the liquor cabinet until I found a bottle of tequila. It reminded me of my time in Mexico with Tyler and Alec, and not to mention Carlos.
Taking the martini glasses out of Lacey's hands I set them on the counter and grabbed two shot glasses instead. Pouring us each a shot, I gave her a devilish grin. "Do you need salt or can you just take it straight?" I asked her, the challenge clear on my face.

Then Lexi broke out the tequila, and I knew exactly what she meant. She was talkin' real drinks in the sense that Daddy talked 'em. Like whiskey and vodka and all that other nasty straight-up like a thousand proof liquor the boys drink. I crinkled my nose a little. I'd never drank anything straight up like that before. The closest I'd came to it was when Trey Donovan brought beer to the little tailgate party we had after the Homecoming Game.
And even then, Genevieve ran went back to her house and stole some wine coolers for the girls.
"I can take it straight." I said, defiantly. Even though I wasn't so sure that I could. Giving her a brave smile, I picked up the shot closest to me, tipped it to my lips, tossed my head back, and swallowed.
And of course choked. As glamorously as I could manage all things considered, but by the end of it, I had tequila burning down my throat, dripping down my chin and pooling in my collarbone.
Coughing, I faked a smile.
"Maybe some salt next time."

"Don't worry," I promised her. "The first one is always the hardest, they just get easier from here on out." I promised her as I grabbed my own shot glass and easily swallowed down the tequila. I loved that little burn, and when it made my tummy all warm.
"We'll get some salt." I told her as I opened up one of the cabinets and pulled out a small salt shaker. I had to move like a million bottles of booze out of the way. I'd picked up plenty on the way here with my fake ID but we didn't even need to. "God, Lacey. Your cousin is like a total lush." I said as if she didn't already know. "I could get an entire army drunk on what she has in here."
With a shrug I poured another shot for me and one for Lacey. I had a ridiculously high alcohol tolerance and Lacey did pretty well keeping up with me sometimes, I wondered why that was cause she was so little.
If there's one thing I've learned living in this city it's that nobody is exactly what they seem. "I bet she has some limes too." I said as I sauntered over to the fridge and pulled it open, and in the produce drawer there were a bunch of limes. "Score." I grinned at Lacey as I walked back over to her, limes in hand.

"It better." I said, with a small grin. "'Cause I'm not exactly sure my throat's fit to handle another lava flow." Wiping the corners of my mouth with the tip of my middle finger, I watched as she expertly threw back her entire shot like it was nothing; like it was water. It really never stopped impressing me how she could do that. Like she'd been drinking a lot longer than she'd been alive,
"It's not all Kacie's." I said, though I wasn't exactly defending her. "She's always got some quote casting director unquote coming over with a bottle of booze and a box of Trojans so she can read for a part." I explained, givin' a little roll of my eyes. "She never gets a call back. And a couple days later, it's the same thing, all over again. The expensive stuff is what they bring, all part of their game. The cheap stuff's hers, what she buys at the grocery store to drink away the rejection."
Kacie was such a beautiful girl. But being Miss Louisiana meant translated to nothin' to the vultures out here and that was a hard lesson she just wasn't learning.
I slid my new shot closer to me before saltin' Lexi's wrist and popping a lime she'd sliced into her mouth with the rind part on the inside. I'd seen them do this on tv before and in the movies, it didn't make us lesbians or anything.
Licking the salt from the inside of Lexi's wrist, I drank back the shot, this time without choking and took the lime from her mouth with my teeth with a triumphant smile.
"Score," I repeated.

Once she was done with her shot I smirked a little at her. "Was it better this time?" I asked her even though I knew the answer was yes. Tequila only burned really badly on the first shot, after that it just kept getting easier.
"My turn." I said as I gently turned Lacey's wrist over and just looked up to meet her eyes. If she was trying to impress somebody it totally had to be. I mean, nobody else was even here. Popping a lime in her mouth I gracefully bent down to lick a bit of salt up before shooting the tequila down easily. Slowly I leaned in and kissed Lacey hard before pulling the lime rind out of her mouth and biting down on it, so she could still taste some of it too.
Pulling away I smiled at her around the rind before pulling it out of my mouth. "I feel better already." I said to her just as the sound of the doorbell rang. "Party's here." I grinned wildly at her. I love a good party.

She gave me this look, and I wasn't sure how to read it. Had I gone too far? I mean, I just though this was how things were done. Which I imagined they were, once she popped the lime in my mouth and began to lick the salt from me.
But then she kissed me - full on kissed my mouth all hard and purposeful and not just for the sake of gettin' the lime. I didn't kmow what to do, my eyes just widened a bit as I held her arms with my hands 'till she pulled away.
"Me too..." I managed to murmur, still confused though we were saved by the bell. "Better go see who that is!" I recovered quickly, flashing her a bright smile as I headed for the door.

"Let's see who it is." I grinned at her as she opened up the door and I swear jaw might have dropped when she saw how many people were behind it.
"Is there where the party is?" One of the guys from school asked me, he had a stereo with him and long hair with a stupid hat on. But he had lots of friends behind him, plus he brought music.
"Sure is." I grinned, elbowing Lacey hard in the ribs as she opened her mouth. Be cool, I couldn't help but think her direction. I wasn't sure if she would be or not but once she loosened up she would have a lot of fun.
Stepping out of the way I watched as the people streamed past us, making their way into the house.

I started to look at Lexi, figurin' she'd put him in his place real quick, but much to my surprise she smiled at him and let him in. Him and at least 25 of his closest friends. Before I could even say anything, I caught an elbow to the rib and I suspect it was supposed to be hard. Alexia Osborn was known for hittin' hard. Somehow, it never really hurt me all that much though.
"Ow." I feigned, once everyone was inside and out of earshot. "Lexi!" I said, frowning slightly, just as her brother and some cute friend of his headed up the sidewalk. Okay. So maybe I could be made a little bit later, which is why I instantly turned it all around and started smiling again.
