Kacie had left at like 2 that afternoon with her doctor-boyfriend who was takin' her to Las Vegas for the weekend, leavin' her Santa Monica beach house all to me. She tried real heard to pretend like she was givin' me the speech, the one about not having any parties while she was gone, no drinking, and definitely no boys. But I could tell, Kacie

Jude and I were meeting up before heading over to the house where the party was supposed to take place and I was taking Lily with me. It had been a while since we really went to any kind of party and probably the last time we really did anything like this was while we were in Spain.
Getting out of my car, I raised a brow when I already realized that this was even bigger than what I thought it would be and that had Lexi written all over it. Hopefully I wouldn't be having to babysit my sister all night long. I was hoping for a longer break than this. Though, hey. At least the evil vampire who fucked up my family and seduced my sister wouldn't be here. This night was looking ( ... )

The plan was to meet up with Tyler and his girlfriend and head over to this girl's house, Lacey I think it was. The one who told me she was gonna get me cupcakes for my birthday. Lexi's friend. We headed on over and when we pulled in, I looked over at Tyler wtih a grin, shaking my head before we headed towards the door. Stopping, I looked back. I couldn't shake this weird feeling I'd had the last few days that someone was following me. Talk about being paranoid.
Tyler teased Lexi and I laughed. "I didn't see any flyers, so that has to be a plus right?" I smiled over at the blonde beside Lexi.

"Don't be a buzzkill tonight, Brother. We're gonna have a blast." I grinned at him as the four of us walked back towards the kitchen. Opening the fridge I gave Tyler a look and tossed him, Lily and his friend Jude a beer each. "It's time to loosen up, and have a good time."
Still giving the four of them an innocent look I leaned up against the wall as someone yelled hi to me. A smile lit up my face as I waved at them before turning back to Lacey, Jude, Lily and Tyler.
"We can go out to the beach later if we want." I said giving Tyler a devilish look. I knew that he loved the beach just as much as I did.

Following Lexi and the other three into the kitchen where she started handing out beers. Personally, I thought better of the whole thing since beer was so gross and let them have 'em while I whipped out the blender and started tossin' in some ice and other ingredients for some watermelon margaritas.
Secretly, I checked out the hottie Tyler brought with him. The one the cupcakes were for. Money well spent, that was for sure.
"So," I said, pressing the 'stop' button and shakin' the pitcher to swirl what was on the sides as I licked a little that got caught on my thumb.
"Who wants somethin' a little sweeter?"
That question was mostly in Jude's direction. But open to all, nonetheless.

Don't think I missed the blonde checking me out. She was definitely hot, that's for sure. This whole party idea was getting better by the minute. She started mixing up some kind of margarita and I finished my beer just as she offered a round of them
Of course Tyler spoke up before anyone else could. "Hey, those are my cupcakes!" I spoke up. "You know, for my birthday that the parents of the year went and forgot?" I grinned. "So, I get the first one. Lacey next, then, because I'm such a nice guy, all the ladies get one. Oh, wait, if we're letting ladies go first? That means you'd get the first one Tyler." I shot him a smart ass look and started laughing.
"And I'll take one of those margaritas." I grinned over at Lacey.

Hmmm. I pressed my lips together as I watched Jude shoot Lacey another look. I think I could see that working out. I exchanged a glance with Tyler to see if he could see it too but he obviously could. He noticed everything which made it REALLY hard to hide things from him. But he has dreams or whatever, and I say that's cheating. At least I can still kick his ass.
"Move it." I said to Jude as I pushed him lightly out of the way and grabbed two cupcakes. Walking over to Lacey I handed her one with a smile, and the look in her eyes kind of made me giggle a little bit. If my brother weren't here, I'd offer her another body shot.

Lily mentioned the bonfire outside at the beach and I loved the idea already. She always knew the beach helped me ease up no matter where I was. Finishing off the beer, I sat the bottle on the counter behind me and started on the mixed drink Lacey had made. She was sure the nice hostess.
"You wanna head out there now or stay around here and hang out for a little bit," I asked Lily. The music was blaring and I kind of felt like dancing a little once people got settled and actually started dancing. Though once I drank the rest of this margarita I'd probably feel like doing it anyway.
Slayers and their stupid stamina. That just wasn't fair. Well. Most of the time.

Tyler’s girlfriend Lily suggested a bonfire. That might actually be kind of cool. Me and Lacey, Ty and Lily, Lexi and…dude, we seriously needed to find somebody for Lexi to chill with or she was gonna be a total buzzkill. And yes, I said me and Lacey. I was interested, I’m not gonna lie. She was hot. Plus, she got me cupcakes. That everyone was eating! I leaned over and grabbed one too.
“I’m cool with whatever.” I shrugged. “I could go for some more drink though.” I held up my empty glass, which Lacey promptly refilled. “Thanks.” I said, smiling at her. “No offense?” I said. “But where’s the strong stuff? I vote we take that outside and make a bonfire.”

Getting up on the counter on my knees I opened one of the cabinets and grabbed a bottle of Jim Beane and a bottle of Vodka before handing them both to Tyler so I could jump down from the counter.
"Okay. Let's go people. I'm not getting any younger." I said to the four of them as we began heading through the kitchen and to the sliding glass doors that lead to the beach outside. I hope they knew how to build a fire because that wasn't exactly my specialty. I already did my part by inviting so many people.
