Kacie had left at like 2 that afternoon with her doctor-boyfriend who was takin' her to Las Vegas for the weekend, leavin' her Santa Monica beach house all to me. She tried real heard to pretend like she was givin' me the speech, the one about not having any parties while she was gone, no drinking, and definitely no boys. But I could tell, Kacie

"It better." I said, with a small grin. "'Cause I'm not exactly sure my throat's fit to handle another lava flow." Wiping the corners of my mouth with the tip of my middle finger, I watched as she expertly threw back her entire shot like it was nothing; like it was water. It really never stopped impressing me how she could do that. Like she'd been drinking a lot longer than she'd been alive,
"It's not all Kacie's." I said, though I wasn't exactly defending her. "She's always got some quote casting director unquote coming over with a bottle of booze and a box of Trojans so she can read for a part." I explained, givin' a little roll of my eyes. "She never gets a call back. And a couple days later, it's the same thing, all over again. The expensive stuff is what they bring, all part of their game. The cheap stuff's hers, what she buys at the grocery store to drink away the rejection."
Kacie was such a beautiful girl. But being Miss Louisiana meant translated to nothin' to the vultures out here and that was a hard lesson she just wasn't learning.
I slid my new shot closer to me before saltin' Lexi's wrist and popping a lime she'd sliced into her mouth with the rind part on the inside. I'd seen them do this on tv before and in the movies, it didn't make us lesbians or anything.
Licking the salt from the inside of Lexi's wrist, I drank back the shot, this time without choking and took the lime from her mouth with my teeth with a triumphant smile.
"Score," I repeated.

Once she was done with her shot I smirked a little at her. "Was it better this time?" I asked her even though I knew the answer was yes. Tequila only burned really badly on the first shot, after that it just kept getting easier.
"My turn." I said as I gently turned Lacey's wrist over and just looked up to meet her eyes. If she was trying to impress somebody it totally had to be. I mean, nobody else was even here. Popping a lime in her mouth I gracefully bent down to lick a bit of salt up before shooting the tequila down easily. Slowly I leaned in and kissed Lacey hard before pulling the lime rind out of her mouth and biting down on it, so she could still taste some of it too.
Pulling away I smiled at her around the rind before pulling it out of my mouth. "I feel better already." I said to her just as the sound of the doorbell rang. "Party's here." I grinned wildly at her. I love a good party.

She gave me this look, and I wasn't sure how to read it. Had I gone too far? I mean, I just though this was how things were done. Which I imagined they were, once she popped the lime in my mouth and began to lick the salt from me.
But then she kissed me - full on kissed my mouth all hard and purposeful and not just for the sake of gettin' the lime. I didn't kmow what to do, my eyes just widened a bit as I held her arms with my hands 'till she pulled away.
"Me too..." I managed to murmur, still confused though we were saved by the bell. "Better go see who that is!" I recovered quickly, flashing her a bright smile as I headed for the door.

"Let's see who it is." I grinned at her as she opened up the door and I swear jaw might have dropped when she saw how many people were behind it.
"Is there where the party is?" One of the guys from school asked me, he had a stereo with him and long hair with a stupid hat on. But he had lots of friends behind him, plus he brought music.
"Sure is." I grinned, elbowing Lacey hard in the ribs as she opened her mouth. Be cool, I couldn't help but think her direction. I wasn't sure if she would be or not but once she loosened up she would have a lot of fun.
Stepping out of the way I watched as the people streamed past us, making their way into the house.

I started to look at Lexi, figurin' she'd put him in his place real quick, but much to my surprise she smiled at him and let him in. Him and at least 25 of his closest friends. Before I could even say anything, I caught an elbow to the rib and I suspect it was supposed to be hard. Alexia Osborn was known for hittin' hard. Somehow, it never really hurt me all that much though.
"Ow." I feigned, once everyone was inside and out of earshot. "Lexi!" I said, frowning slightly, just as her brother and some cute friend of his headed up the sidewalk. Okay. So maybe I could be made a little bit later, which is why I instantly turned it all around and started smiling again.
