So since Britt got home, my summer excitement has escalted like 100%, lol. We saw Good Charlotte and Simple Plan last Friday... that was fun. We had more fun making fun of the concert goers that we did seeing the bands... but whatever. Britt got a video camera, so that has added into the chaos... and will continue to add... geez. We were supposed to go see Jack's Mannequin this past Friday night at the Masquerade (with Wakefield, haha) however Andrew has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia and has had to cancel both Something Corporate's and Jack's Mannequin's show from now until... who knows. His doctors say that they expect a full recovery and they caught it early. I pray that they did. You go for years listening to a band and enjoying their music so much because it touches you in ways that you'd never imagine. And then one day you are hit with the reality that they too are real people and bad things happen to them. Now I know that they are real people just like you and me... but you never dream that something like this would ever happen. You always think that it isn't going to happen to you, or anyone you know. Invincible. That's what we think we are. Nothing is going to happen to us. 23 years old and he has leukemia... I know where my 11:11 wishes are going to be going...

Friday night, instead of going to see just Wakefield (ahhhhh, those boys) we went and saw Lords of Dogtown, which was AWESOME! I was concerned as to how they were going to pull this movie off, due to the fact that Hollywood had gotten ahold of it. However since they had Stacy Peralta on hand (he wrote it... and he was one of the original Z-Boys), the did a good job. I was concerned that they would blow Kathy Alva up to be some huge character, but she was merely used for drama and it was true that both Peralta and Adams had a thing for, and with her. Emile Hirshe did an amazing job portraying Jay Adams, another thing I was concerned about because Emile is 19... Jay Adams at the time of the movie was 13. But the facial expressions and actions of the character were those of a 13 year old boy... John Robinson was the perfect Stacy Peralta with his pretty boy, all american boy look... and Victor was awesome as Tony Alva. There were a lot of cameo roles... Tony Hawk made an appearance as an astronaut and he fell on his ass when attempting to skate, Jay Adams was in a scene, Stacy Peralta, Tony Alva, Skip Engblom, Jim Meir, and many more made appearances... So, ahts off to Stacy Peralta and Catherine Hardwicke for their wonderful job in turning the real story of the Zephyr skate team into an entertaining movie and not letting it get too "hollywood"--- the only insane thing about Lords is that they made up a character... Sid... there really was a kid that used to watch the Z-Boys skate and he used to hang with them, but he never was a member of the Z-Boys, nor did he skate... he was just a boy with brain cancer who let them skate in his pool... but Sid's character was enjoyable.

Now.. everyone go out and see Lords of Dogtown... but first you ahve to watch the doc... Dogtown and Z-Boys... there should be a pre-req to the movie... lol/

So, I start work on Wednesday because Sandra has appointments on Monday and Tuesday. But I'm working 10 hours this week, which means $100! YES!

Sunday Britt and I are going to Nashville! Bring on the fun!
