Brisnova stuff
So the wigs are on their way, but I'm doubtful they'll get here before I leave on Thursday. Well I'm not holding my breath on it at least.
So today I'm going to work on my WW pieces until Matt gets home, then I can sort out the jacket sleeves and hopefully at least get them basted in (can't guarantee sewing tonight because I can't really sew after Sally gets home). I'm aiming to get the templates all finished today, I think I have a pretty good chance of achieving that! Though I do need to give the Green room a bit of a tidy up so I can find all the bits and pieces I'm working with.
Tomorrow I'm going to try and be up early again so I can get the sleeves sewn into the jacket. Then I need to let the bias relax for the day as the gores are cut on the bias. So I'll spend the rest of the day working on making the armour pieces. I'm aiming to get the tiara and chest pieces done.
Then Monday I can finish the jacket. It needs the red cuffs and front facing stitched on; the hem done and the gold trim stitched around the hemline; then the lining needs to be attached around the neckline and front and the sleeves and hem will have to be handstitched in. Oh and the buttons, but I'm not 100% on those just yet. I think I worked out the red facings though. I though it would look best if I put the red facings on the inside as well as the outside, so what I'll do is cut out two lots and sew them in place on the woll and lining. I won't have to worry about the front/neck edges and that will be where I attach the lining to the wool, so the seam will hide the raw edges. woo! I was working out all these other convoluted ways of doing it, and I jsut hit upon that way and realised it would be easier. Don't worry, it won't make sense to othe rpeople, I jsut needed to write it down so I didn't forget it for myself! woo!
Anywho, so Monday will be finish jacket day. It really shouldn't take me all day, so I should be able to get the WW belt done Monday night. If not, then I'll have to do that Tuesday, as well as the bracers (almost forgot them!). I've also got to get to Spotlight and get myself some gold cord for the lasso and work out how it's being attached. Also need to make a modesty panel for the back of the corset.
*fingers crossed* I get everything done by then, because that will leave Wednesday for me to finish Giselle (just in case the wigs arrive) and possibly make that blue linen cape for Wonder Woman. Which leaves Thursday for packing as my flight doesn't leave until 8pm, so I don't need to be at the airport til 6ish. I was thinking about going to The Manor when I arrived and saying hello, but I don't want to be up too late and I have some stuff to take care of at mum's place, just in case I don't make it back there before I leave.
On Friday, I was thinking of being up bright and early so I can get my brother to drop me off at The Manor before anyone starts to arrive, meet up with Alison and Dave (Did you guys want to have breakfast?) and head into the city to show them around :D Being careful not to bump into any of the Guild girls who will be doing the mini Supanova thing in the Queen street Mall. Oh before I forget, Alison, can I leave my suitcase in your room when we go out? I dont' think check in is until later in the afternoon, so I wouldn't be able to leave it in our room. The tricky part will be getting ready for preview night without any people seeing me. I'm not too worried about the Novus people as I don't know whether any of them knew I wasn't coming; I'm mostly wanting to surprise the ACG girls. I know I have to be careful of Bek, as she's staying at the manor, so once we get back from the city, I'll probably have to keep myself to our room, so as to not bump into anyone.
Now for the big reveal, what do you girls (and guy) think? I had two ideas: We could organise to meet the ACG girls at the Manor, and then walk down to the convention from there. So I can surprise them as a group there. OR I can wait until everyone has gone down to the convention (I don't mind being later as I'll miss the cue and I don't mind missing the intro session thing) and have you gals make sure they're in one spot and then I can meet you there and surprise them there at the con. Surprising them at the Con might be better, just in case people are late? But I'm not sure, what do people think? At this stage I'll be wearing my Wonder Woman costume Friday night (so long as I get the cape made, in case it's cold!) as I really don't think I'll have time to put together the Animated Donna Troy costume.
