Unfortunately didn't get the wool cut out last night so I did that first thing this morning. Guess how much fabric is left over? 3.5m!! ARGH! Though that's partially my fault as I didn't realise the fabric was actually around 62 inches wide, where the pattern calls for 45 inch wide fabric. hmmm oops! I probably could have saved even more fabric (well maybe another 30cm) but was kinda getting sick of having to move the pattern pieces and repinning :P So there's enough for another jacket and some!
The main body is all sewn together (both lining and wool) just need to overlock the gore pieces (painful!) and then iron them. Then it's onto the sleeves. Once the sleeves are sewn together and sewn into the body piece, I think I should be right to sew the lining to the wool around the neck and front.
I'll have to get Matt to try it on when he gets home, but I'm slightly worried it's going to be too big....Now I was careful about the measurements; I followed the final measurements printed on the tissue, not on the pack. The measurements were slightly bigger, but you need to allow room for clothes underneath. So I really hope it's not too big!!
But I have to say, this wool is amazing! It's so easy to sew with and easy to work with, I love it! It's got the most beautiful drape :D Perfect choice for the jacket, if I do say so myself :D
So once lunch is over, it's back to the sewing machine!! I need to get it all sewn up before Sally gets home so she doesn't freak out at the small mess I've made :P
