Whilst she hasn’t explained exactly all her past to him, he thinks he’s worked out just enough to know that she’s had a life filled with sadness. And not only that, but the sadness brought on by being different, and by loneliness, things he’s had to deal with himself. That’s what made her special to him. The fact that she was so shocked that he was willing to be kind to a stranger and that she was homeless when they met just touched him so deeply that from then on, he was dedicated to making her smile. He also respects that she’s smarter than him, by a wide margin, but doesn’t treat him like he’s stupid. The only reason he doesn’t act his usual perverted self at all times around her is that because he knows that doesn’t usually end well and upsetting her would break his heart. But occasionally, he just can’t control himself. The What If? Suguru actually did ask her out, but he doesn’t know that yet.

Touya has a lot of the qualities that Suguru wishes he had. He’s intelligent, calm, a skilled fighter and he has honour. Whilst he finds Touya’s coldness to be a little annoying, he finds he’s an excellent straight man. He really does respect Touya though- he gave Suguru a beautiful fight they could both be proud of. He also finds his devotion to honour to be very admirable; anyone who will fight someone to protect the honour of others is a good guy in his book. He knows for a fact that Touya see’s great potential in him and the desire to not disappoint means that he’d do anything to prove he’s not a total loser to Touya. If only he could get him to admit his true feelings, he’d be really happy. In the mean time, he’s having fun with his in-denial-demon-friend and will wait forever to hear him say ‘I’m glad I met you, Suguru’ or ‘you’re amazing, Suguru.’

Suguru once asked V if he was a super hero and he said no. Suguru doesn’t believe him. To Suguru, V is the man who escaped from hell and is going back in, this time with weapons. Whilst he’s only had glimpses into the kind of world that V lives in, he understands that V has a lot harder goals than beating up bad guys and fighting giant monsters and admires him for aiming for them. If V ever asked, he’d do everything in his power to advance V even the smallest step closer to those goals. Because V has everything Suguru could ask for in a friend-intelligence, a gentle nature, a strong sense of justice. And Suguru knows that whilst there are many terrible things that have happened to V, and there will probably be many more, that just means he has all the more reason to stand by him. Also, V was the first person in his entire life to call him intelligent.

Just talking to Ursa stirs up feelings he doesn’t really understand. He doesn’t get it-why does she make him feel awkward about being a total goofball? The answer that Suguru doesn’t know is because he wants her to be proud of him. But the desire is one he could never totally fulfil-because even if she said she was completely impressed with him, he’d still want to do better than that. He’s constantly worried about lowering her opinion of him-which makes him second guess himself and get flustered, making him say things he doesn’t mean. But she seems to understand that and puts him at ease about it too. And this is all because she’s just so damn motherly-even the small contact they’ve had has been enough. Mostly, this is because he’s only met his own mother once that he remembers, and she just gives off the same vibe. If he ever lost that, he’d probably start thinking of her as a serious milf perfect romantic target, but chances are he’ll be never be that Freudian.

Ever since arriving at DDD, Kinnikuman has been annoying Mariach. He’s just the right kind of guy for Suguru to bounce off of. He can be serious, allowing Suguru to be the funny man. And he has his own brand of silliness, allowing Suguru to join in. He knows that Mariach has had a hard life, and that he’s still willing to search for happiness reminds Suguru of himself. What if? Suguru had a serious man crush on Mariach, but regular Suguru just likes him as a friend. One day, he’d like to meet Mariach’s kids, and introduce Mariach to his own ‘kids’, the little royal servant Meat and the loser monster Nachiguron. He’d also really love for the pair to make a manzai performance at least once.

You’re his Dumbledore-Sensei. Dumbledore is not only the first nice teacher he’s ever met, but he remains the only one for now. And what a one to be his first-he’s kind, wise and patient with him. Dumbledore’s gentle manner just tells Suguru ‘everything will be alright if you try your best’.

Not to mention, anyone who hates bullying is a friend to Suguru. If only she was a little older~

Watch out, Hibari-without the mental handicaps that prevent him from fighting all out, Suguru would easily send you packing, and if you ever threatened him or someone he liked in person, that’s exactly what he’d do-Smack you on the nose and put you outside like a naughty puppy.

Yes-at the same time, he would die for her and can’t think of anything he likes about her. Strictly speaking, she has a lot of the qualities that Suguru admires, but to him they’re all pointed in the wrong direction. The fact that she herself says that she’s a monster and has no heart just fills Suguru with a kind of despair he’s never felt before. Whilst he says he’s certain he can save her from that sort of existence, for once in his life he’s not sure. He definitely thinks it’ll take a lot more than a big man annoying her, but that’s all he’s got. One of the reasons why Suguru is picking on Azula so strongly about this sort of thing is because she fits in the tiny little area between the two groups he’s most passionate about protecting-children and pretty girls. And for some reason, he’s certain that she actually does like him, but just will never admit it even to herself. As he sees it, he’s got a hold of her by the chain of hate, and is going to reel her in until he can grab her hand and hold her tightly until everything is alright. On the other hand, when she gets angry at him, it’s just so much fun! His plan to humiliate her completely so she knows what it’s like to be a loser sways from a certain conviction to a passing fancy quite randomly.

The fact that Crocker seems to enjoy Suguru’s fear has actually caused him to dislike him, and if it weren’t for the fact that his Dumbledore-Sensei seems to like him, Suguru would hate him. After all, he doesn't mind scary people, if they can't help being scary. But Denzel is just a bully, and Suguru hates bullies. As it is, he’s waiting to see what it is that Dumbledore sees in him. If Suguru ever finds out that he’s so bitter and crazy due to a perceived bad childhood, he’ll instantly forgive him for everything though.
