Well, started my second full week of work today. Learned a few nifty new things from MS Word tutorials before Karen gave me my assignment. Ended up at Eye Bank Association of America (read: organization to encourage people to donate bits of their eyeballs when they croak). Was supposed to answer phones, think phones rang all of 20 times throughout the day so I wrote 3 pages of notes for my RPG, a page of notes for Lyrin, and a page for the "fresh start" I intend to give Lyrin. Whee.
Mom bought me a new book at the grocery store because I was bitching about not having anything to read. I'm gonna run totally out of fiction pretty soon (I have three books on my "I'll get there" list and one that I'm nearly done with.) So I guess I'll have to finish reading King Arthur Pendragon andVampire and V:DA and Exalted. And Changeling. lol. Roleplaying books are great but I can only take so much at once, particularly of corebooks. Supplements are much more fun. Book of Madness! Wheeeee! Marauders *evil grin*
Anyway, yeah, so I've come up with a thematic element and even a cool colour symbolism for Lyrin--I thought that it would help me polish my writing to deliberately try to write something that plays on a motif and a theme that are related. I'm doing the Maiden-Mother-Crone thing, except that the three women are all the same age, and they serve different purposes and one of them won't serve the purpose she was intended to but the other two will, and the question is whether their actions will outweigh hers. I don't even know yet. It will be interesting to find out.
I also need to work on "Awakening." I went over all the notes that people made when we workshopped it in class, and I need to work on it. A lot. But it's coming together for me, a lot. I think I might try to novelize this Mage campaign too the way I did Changeling. Which is another thing I have to work on. I'm not sure if I will. I have so much to do and not nearly enough time to do it.
My mom made a great suggestion today for work I can do at school--Medical records from home. Dude what an awesome idea! I type like a demon, and with that kind of job I could still spend all the time I want with my friends. That would rock so much. I would adore that with a passion.
Been working on my Final Fantasy IV walkthrough for Hardtype. I'm finished through the battle with the Dark Elf. Fortunately, like much else for FF4, I can cheat when I do the Easytype walkthrough. Adjust the language, change item and monster names and boss HP, and I should be good to go. Add a few quips, change a few things. The delight of doing the Hardtype stuff first--all the work is done and I just have namechanges and cosmetic differences. It's a joy, it really is.
There's some other things I wanted to talk about...but I think they will have to wait. I'm tired and I don't want to say things I don't mean. Besides, I think I smell kielbasa cooking. And that means dinner soon, and that means the hungry Meglet will be happy.
Oh yeah, new knowledge of the day: stretching in a fitted linen dress is a bitch. It gets caught on your boobs, hikes up to your crotch, and is too tight around the shoulders. Feh. I need to get back into stretching regularly though. Sigh....Ah well. Off with me.
