Puzzle Quest 2: Eating my life

Jun 27, 2010 22:47

...Yeah.

I spent most of this weekend helping the paladin move and unpack. I also spent a sum I don't want to think about at Bed Bath and Beyond today; we're getting a queen-sized bed, and we have no linens of that size, so I went and got said linens.

Okay, look, I know they'll last me ten years if I'm reasonably careful, but glkjsdflkjsdf.

The haul:

*One Calphalon one-quart nonstick saucepan with lid (the 1qt saucepan my parents bought me as part of my freshman year dorm kit is pretty much about to bite the dust, but it has served damn well for a Walgreens Miscellaneous Aisle special, seriously)
*One Cuisinart rice cooker
*Two sets of Wamsutta 400 threadcount sheets, in queen, plus extra set of pillowcases
*One mattress pad
*One comforter
*Two throw pillow thingies

Total: $617. After Crook County's thoroughly obscene 10.25% sales tax. (Next time I am just going to bite the bullet and fucking drive to Wisconsin.) Paladin will defray part of that--minus the pillows and the saucepan, which are my choice to pick up and I do not expect him to contribute, so that knocks about $110 off the total--but ffffff.

And the comforter and pillows were on sale. :(

But. But I have very very pretty linens. They are blue! And so soft.

I also spent my Christmas-gift gift card at Target, and got a ton of adorable clothes for $150 in "real" money (i.e. out of my account) after $100 worth of gift card. Two dresses, four cardigans, a pair of pants, and three shirts. I am really excited about the dresses--with cardigans they are entirely work-appropriate, or they're suitable for a medium-nice dinner out. But. But. Target. Target, why did you have ONE PAIR OF PANTS in the entire women's section in my size? You have like six pairs of size 2's. You have stuff in 12 and up all over the place. I just want a size six. (I tried eights and fours. Eights are falling off, fours are too tight. skldfjlkjsdf.)

so yeah. Other than that we spent a lot of yesterday and today unboxing things and cleaning and lining cabinets, and so on. Next weekend is The Shopping of Doom, namely: four bookshelves plus a dresser from IKEA, mattress/boxspring/bedframe (From the mattress place), minifridge and supplementary freezer (Lowe's?), floor lamps (Target?), and probably some other things of Great Importance that I am totally forgetting, but whatever.

We have a kitchen. It is huge. It is big enough for me to bake Christmas cookies in. And a giant living room with room for BOTH our sets of couches. And and and. *squeeeeee*

...Of course i have to get through the moving first. Fucking shoot me.

And now I am going to go enjoy some more Puzzle Quest 2, which has taken priority over finishing Strange Journey because oh for fuck's sake fuck you Mother Harlot I hate you forever.

Also I have read 50 books this year. ...Somehow I still feel like I am slacking.

unrelated: my calendar on the sidebar of my journal tells me that I like to post on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I am amused.

Oh, and my cats think Armageddon is happening. (NOt that I blame them. *I* thought Armageddon was happening during the thunderstorms yesterday morning and today. Holy cow.)
