Master Fic List, 2010 Edition
Yeah, I'm signed up for onedeadbunny again. So I'm making a list of my fic plans, in a slightly different order this year: "must complete 2010," "plan to complete in 2010" and "miscellaneous ideas to be pursued at some point." I also ditched my theme-comm lists; I'll probably still work on them, but not actively.
2010 Completion March
Final Fantasy IV
Every Light Casts A Shadow 110,000/200,000 - Kain returns to Baron in search of redemption and peace, but all is not well in the world even with Zeromus defeated.
Final Fantasy X
"Sea Breezes," romance/angst, ChappuxLulu. Again, I really like this, but I'm getting stuck in various places. *sigh*
*"A Summoner's Faith," Yuna, five connected vignettes in Besaid Temple at three different stages of her pilgrimage.
2010 Secondary Tier
Final Fantasy XII
"An Evening Out," Balthier and Al-Cid go clubbing. I blame yi_sen.
Son of Dalmasca - Vossler/Ashe AU, King-Consort Vossler and the meaning of being a son of Dalmasca
Beneath Imperial Heels - Gabranth/Ashe AU, "I cannot serve two masters, Queen Ashelia. Do not make me choose."
Once Young And Blessed With Wings - Balthier/Ashe, angst and action and endings.
Lowest Tier
Final Fantasy IV:
Untitled, Golbez and FuSoYa encounter new problems with Zemus elsewhere. Crossover potential (FF8).
"The Darkness Within," Kain/Rydia. I just have the title and a vague concept of what I want. Sigh.
"The Cost of Dreams," Golbez/Valvalicia/Kain, Kain/Rosa. While Rosa is captive in the Tower of Zot, one thing leads to another. Angst, self-hatred, fights, mind control, and a bit of inspiration from auronlu's "Resurrection" series.
Final Fantasy VI
"Crimson Memories," Edgar Roni Figaro, angst, romance, sap, tragedy. Pre-game, adventures with the Returners.
"War of the Magi." Historical fic, exploring the creation of the Espers and the war they fought. I have three chapters, which were written sophomore year, which means that if I continue it I either have to rewrite those three chapters or have a huge stylistic break between them and the subsequent ones, not unlike the one in "Reconciliation."
Untitled, telling the tale of Kefka's Magi-Tek infusion and Leo's refusal, and the slow warping it inspired in Kefka.
"Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory," Terra. You see, the Slave Crown as a concept completely fascinates me, and given that Terra is a powerful creature (look how fast she recovered) what must that be like, being under the crown? Early in the game it's stated that she's unable to have conscious thoughts. I would interpret that more as she can't take voluntary actions.
Untitled, Locke's youth, rebelling against a powerful family (Cole/Kohlingen) and becoming a treasure hunter.
Untitled, post-game fic that is entirely my boyfriend's fault and that involves Locke playing politics and Celes running the army; my personal rebellion against the "Celes settles down with a white picket fence" fanon bullshit.
Final Fantasy VII:
Crack!fic AU, exploring the notion of what would happen if a SOLDIER reproduced; whether the Mako would carry over and what would happen with the JENOVA genetic material.
Final Fantasy VIII:
"Limits," Seifer/Squall. Generally inspired by a combination of VAST - Pretty When You Cry and the theme "You just never know when to stop" which I'll be using for fated_children when I actually get there, which will likely be a while.
"Fireflies," Seifer/Rinoa - that summer.
Final Fantasy X:
"Spira's Sorrow," how Yunalesca first discovered the Final Summoning.
Day 7 of devastating neck/headache. DO NOT WANT. :(
