I am absolutely sickened and disgusted by this game of "support the rapist" that is going on in Switzerland re: Polanski.
Too bad I am also unsurprised by the game of "support the rapist."
I mean, really, are you fucking kidding me? The man thing pled guilty to sexual misconduct with a minor, and I for one do not give a flying rat's ass WHY he fled the country. The arrest warrant remains valid. Why the fuck do people think it's okay for celebrities to get free passes on charges like this because they are ~OMG GENIUSES?~ If you have sex with someone without their consent, that is rape. Full stop. I don't understand why this is a difficult concept. This is true regardless of the gender of the perpetrator, the gender of the victim, the age of either, or the social, political, economic, or religious status of either person.
But, no, he's a tortured artiste or some such epic bullshit, and so it's okay for him to drug a thirteen-year-old girl and have sex with her, because he makes art.

You know, I wonder what the signatories of this petition to "Free Polanski" would say if it was their daughters he'd raped. Except for Woody Allen, who has already displayed abominable taste when it comes to appropriate sexual conduct.
