So Ganon was being a butt this morning, and tried to drag me out of bed two hours early, to my extensive displeasure.
As a result, pretty much everything I've done all day has had more than a little bit of a sharp edge to it.
My current project is reading through and analyzing one of the books on Wicca that I've owned for years, and--I can't even begin to express how much is WRONG WITH IT, and how little scholarship went into even the things that are documented, researchable, and available. I've been ranting to
celeloriel a lot in email about this particular book and specific things it does, but basically it boils down to my general rage at people who can't research. (Hint, by the way: Please consider the actual roots of the words you are trying to use to prove your point with linguistic derivatives, and don't pretend that the root of "donate" is a Celtic-derived word having to do with wisdom. It actually comes from a Latin word, and that Latin word has bugger-all to do with teaching and wisdom. Just a little helpful hint, there. THINK BEFORE YOU PUBLISH.) Also why is your editor a freaking idiot who let this crap slide?
