If you're going to do NaNoWriMo this year, consider joining nanowriters (LJ only at the moment; IJ folks, shall I duplicate?) Pep talks, tools, et cetera.

Gymnastics is over :( Kitty is sad.

augh, headache.

But first_seventhe is going to be here IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS and I'm excited! Also I'm talking to bottle_of_shine for the first time in forever and that's also totally awesome ( Read more... )

Going with the modern, since the heroine and her best friend popped into my head fully-formed and chattering away.

I might do Nano this year, since I've got a couple plot bunnies knockin' around. They're both- whaddaya know?- urban fantasy.

And I'm already a member of the comm. :)

Joined! I've done NaNo since 200....3, I think? Or possibly 2004. But always with original work, and I'm tempted this year to do it with fanwork.

Really? That's when I started, too! I failed pretty epically in 04 and 05, succeeded in 06 and skipped 07. I think the key to success was my outline in 06, so I'm getting all the research and everything done beforehand.

Aren't we getting just a tad over-hyped a bit too soon? It's not even September yet :). Guess it doesn't hurt to get your ideas in order before November suddenly appears. Of course, I'll be doing NaNo this year. The time period I invade next though is still a mystery...

well...the year I finished NaNo I got my idea in February and spent the next 8 months refining it...

I'm a really strong believer in the notion of nailing down your idea at least enough to have a general outline of your plot before you hit November. I finish outlined stories much more easily and consistently than non-outlined.

Plus I had a kick-ass idea that I'm super excited about, so the real problem is getting Liz and Bri to shut up until November.

Hee, I hope you and Sev have lots and lots of fun! Think of me a little while I'm languishing in Cardiff with my grandparents!
