Holiday weekends are the BEST.
It's been a good weekend. =D
I got to leave work a bit early on Thursday due to the holiday. I came home and made deviled eggs and sweet tea...and then played Persona till 2 am. I got up at around 10 on Friday, kicked around being useless, and played more Persona. (Pattern? Yeah.) People arrived around 3:30ish on Friday for cooking out and then we ventured forth to fireworks. Pretty! Although I am moderately certain that the display this year was shorter than in years prior.
Saturday Mike and I had had vague plans to go to the Field Museum or the Shedd or somewhere else useful and brain-improving, but we both kind of just wanted a nice lazy Saturday, so instead, I played some FF Tactics Advance (70+ missions cleared, level 17, just cleared Mission 10 plotwise) and then more Persona, while he caught up on internets and read Manual of Exalted Power: the Abyssals. Also there was snuggling involved. Yay.
Saturday also happened to be wrenbow's 21st birthday, so I rounded up Mike, Jeremy, intorporeal, spreanparanoia, and other denizens of the Whale. We had a delicious dinner at Nevin's (NY strip with caramelized onions and Stilton = yes, please.) Also creme brulee and a couple drinks - I had an Amaretto sour and a cider. After that we adjourned to Bat 17, where they have a $4 martini special on Saturdays. I had a chocolate martini (and stole sips of other people's drinks) and Mike and I ordered their Onion Strings Mountain which was in fact a mountain and ended up being fed to the rest of the table. I also had another Amaretto Sour. By the time 11 pm rolled around and they were threatening to take Nat to the Keg to round off her 21st birthday, I was too drunk to continue, so Mike kindly walked me home and we had several interesting and illuminating conversations on the way.
Woke up this morning not hung over, snuggled a lot, and then Mike headed home to finish his unpacking, and I returned to Gekkoukan High. Net result of the weekend's Persona:
Level 30
Just beat the boss on 85F (so, halfway between July and August full moons, and hello my predictions were totally correct. Also Mitsuru and Akihiko are made of tasty hotness.
Have filled out about 20% of the Persona compendium
Maxed Magician, Hierophant, and Chariot. Hermit at 8, Strength at 8, Hanged Man at 9, Emperor at 4, and then of course the plot-related ones.
Charm at level 3, Courage at level 4, Academics at level 3. (Don't have July exam results yet.)
Next up: finish off Strength so I can get to raising Priestess and/or Lovers, whichever one i decide on first, and more Emperor, and of course finishing Hermit and Hanged Man.
And now, I will finish cooking my oh-so-nutritious nuclear-orange macaroni and cheese, and try and catch up on some of the fic reading I'm way too far behind on while I eat. Then I'm headed to Mike's to do...something yet undetermined. Possibly it will involve Babylon 5.
