It is snowing outside. It is absolutely gorgeous. now that I am safely home and not driving in it, I purr.
In other news, I have some rambling to do about music. I really do not like covers, as a general rule. Gary Allan's cover of Vertical Horizon's Grey Sky Morning seriously makes me twitch. I have to change the station as soon as it comes on the radio. All 4 One's covers of John Michael Montgomery's "I Swear" and "I Can Love You Like That" spaz me like nothing else. Reba McEntire's cover of Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You" doesn't ping me quite as badly, but still, original = better.
Cases where I like the cover and the original equally: Quietdrive's cover of "Time After Time," and New Found Glory's cover of "The Glory of Love."
Cases where the cover is better than the original: Whitney Houston's cover of "I Will Always Love You."
This is actually relevant to nothing, I'm just blathering.
As far as the sale of LJ goes, I reserve judgment. I do want to point out some interesting reading:
brad welcomes our Russian overlords. His involvement with the new regime makes me a teeny bit less like a panic monkey.
stewardess has some interesting reading, including one article that discloses financial terms of the sale. (We're worth $30mil, in case you cared.)
This bit of black humour regarding the sale is possibly the funniest thing I read yesterday, period.
And this one-liner made my little historian's heart gleeful.
