Gaming of Multiple Varieties

So I spent all of last night playing Kingdom Hearts II. Overall I like it a lot better than the first game. The controls are smoother for the most part (except the freaking impossible camera oh my God) and I really like that the reaction commands and special stuff are with triangle instead of having to jump around the menu. I'm really enjoying ( Read more... )

But you know... I don't think that you really need to reset the game to make it the kind of game that you want. I feel like yeah, there are a lot of huge plot points running right now but I think the important thing to remember is that the players don't always need to win. So what happens when the Prophet gets to Paragon and gets caught first thing out? (Which, I think, if the Prophet''s anywhere near as obvious as he seems to be and the Perfect isn't a complete fool, is rather likely.) What happens when Bredeaia's just going to be collateral sitting in the underworld for the next three-odd seasons?

I think the other thing is that no, we're not really invested in what's happening in other parts of creation- but you have two choices. Accept that, and focus us more in the South- or MAKE us invested. I think most of us have given you ways of forcing that hand if it comes to it.

Arguably I'm being a little bit selfish because I like my character in your game and if you stop running it I'm SOL as far as games go at the moment. But again, keep in mind that a lot of the best moments don't come from beating the big scary things. They come when you lose and survive and you wonder, "Now what?"

And honestly, I'd love a Chiaroscuro-based game. It sounds like you have a lot of interesting stuff set up there and I'd like to see some of that too.

Thank you for feedback :) I'm kind of undecided at the moment and I think I'm just feeling very stressed by Exalted generally, so I don't know what I'm going to do. If you have other feedback or anything, I'd be very glad to hear it, as I can't fix things if I don't know they need fixing.

I can understand that. Don't be stressed out by it.. I know certain people expect certain things but really it's up to you... I personally don't need a huge-scale game to be happy. I think I'm like you in that way, the smaller scale the better.

I don't have a lot of feedback otherwise.. other that I think probably the party should regroup as soon as it can just to avoid snottiness on certain people's parts. I suppose that depends on the outcome of the thing in Vane, though.
