I so cannot believe this.
So, I called Triple A this morning at 8:35. Due to various and sundry issues, the tow truck did not get there until TWELVE THIRTY-FIVE. Wrath and ranting. Eventually I got to Advanced, where I described the problem and they told me they'd look at it, but that if it was the transmission, I'd honestly be better off buying a new car. In the past year, my parents and I have sunk the following money into this car:
$681 fuel pump February
$300 head gasket May?ish
$378 brakes July
$278 starter August
$270 alternator January
$??? whatever the hell now
THe Kelley blue book is only about $3-4K for perfect condition on this car, so i think it may be time to give up the ghost. argh. So thanks to Triple A's fuckups, I didn't get to work at all today becuase by the time I had the rental car arranged it was past two o'clock and I wouldn't have gotten to work until about 3:30 or so, at which point I already have a full occurrence and what's the point in being there for an hour, and only taking calls for half of that?
I do feel really bad for asoniel though :(
Currently at Joe's laughing about silliness to do with the Intarwebnets. He was looking at www.gaygamer.com and I mentioned how i knew someone who was in fact gay and hung out on that site, and he goes "Well yeah. I mean, I'm not, but they have interesting articles." And I just burst out laughing, because it was like "Well, yes, I am assuming you are not gay, based on, you know, DATING YOU."
Amusing tidbit from the post-B-Fest gaming. We had ordered Chinese food and were enjoying our fortune cookies. It is tradition, with us, to add the phrase "in bed" to the end of every fortune. Joe and I had two hilarious ones that reduced us all to pointless laughter.
Joe's: "You are the master of every situation (in bed)."
Mine: "Find release from your cares, have a good time (in bed)."
Moderately awkward, but funny nonetheless.
Okay. I'm going to go do things that are not intarwebnets related.
