So the alternator in my car is dead. Joe was very kind and assisted me generally with getting it to the repair shop, and with transportation whilst it was being fixed. Karen also helped with transportation. Yays. ^_^; $254, which is not so yays, but I get my car back tomorrow. (Technically today but whatever.)
Still feeling very antisocial; I spent most of tonight curled up in bed (hurray for cramps, only not) playing FF12. Some thoughts on that follow.
SPOILERS up to entering the Feywood/some optional sidequests
Well, I've done all the sidequests except fishing and the foot race (I don't think even my obsessive completionist tendencies will be enough for those), the Hell Wyrm quest, and the Nabreus Medal/Necrohol of Nabudis. (This is also excluding Espers I cannot yet access.) I did take down Zalera (got a nice Quickening chain early on and owned his ass but good) fairly easily, and Cúchulainn with a bit more effort. I'm currently level 48 and just got to the save point in the Feywood; I'm going to go explore the western area and then move on. I am a Paragon of Justice in Clan Centurio, and I have a list of hunts I'll get to "eventually." Because I'm getting really impatient to go devour fic, I may finish up the sidequests, leave a save file outside the final dungeon for hunts, and just finish this up. It's been a fantastic ride, but I want to know how it ends. Also more of Balthier talking. Yes.
I'm almost completely done with the License board; another 300-400 LP or so will do it for everyone. And then I can start equipping Embroidered Tippets, and level up that much faster. Sexy. ♥
I am generally displeased with the format and layout of the official guide. Brady Games is exceedingly hit-or-miss and for the last six main-series games (counting X-2) they have been about 2 for 6. The FF7 official guide sucks ass, the FF8 official guide is reasonably good with a couple of flaws. The FF9 guide was horrific, but that's because they were trying to whore for PlayOnline (and see how well that went?) The FF10 guide is actually pretty damn solid, but the FFX-2 guide is blatantly wrong in a lot of places, and the FF12 guide is pretty ass. Things are mislabeled, they're hard to find, page numbers are not correctly referenced, and despite the promise early in the guide, it does NOT let you know when to start sidequests! Argh.
Also? The binding quality on Brady Games guides is total ass. My FF12 guide is falling apart already, and I'm gentle on my guides. My first FF10 guide has half the pages coming out. Grrrrr.
Um, anyway. I heart FF12. A lot. I'm coming up on 90 hours clocked. I need to do the Exodus quest, still, as I wasn't feeling up to another Esper battle after Zalera and Cúchulainn. I'll probably go tackle that after I finish Giruvegan.
Bed now.
