Meow. (AKA: Meglet makes contented noises.)

Well, it's been a busy couple of days. I need to work on my yuletide fic still, but eh. I'll probably go back to that in a moment. I went to get the car's oil changed today and was informed that the Service Engine Soon light is because I have a faulty sensor in my transmission, so I'll have to deal with that sooner or later. *sigh* Apparently my car also needed a front and rear differential service or something like that, so all in all I dished out $140 on the car. Meh.

Jeremy was kind enough to accompany me to the car place to keep me entertained, so then we went to the mall, where we split up for a little while: he went in search of a Christmas gift for his mom, whilst I spent a gift card at Victoria's Secret. They have apparently decided to do away with tags on panties entirely, and instead have the information that normally goes on tags printed directly onto the fabric. I approve. TAGS ARE THE DEVIL. Ahem. Anyway. More than you wanted to know about my underwear!

We stopped at Chili's for lunch, whereupon I attempted to treat Jeremy to lunch for keeping me amused at the car place and he declined. We brought the car home, then walked the block and a half to the local Christmas tree lot so I could pick one out. We got a nice little six-foot-ish white pine (I prefer long-needled trees, which tend to stab me less when I try to decorate them) with a stand, and Jeremy carried it home. We got it set up in a minimal amount of time in the upstairs common room, which now smells pleasantly of evergreen. I started the first of six loads of laundry that I did today, and then started playing Final Fantasy XII. More on that shortly.

About halfway through the laundry process, I realized I was out of detergent. This necessitated a trip to Jewel, as Walgreen's does not carry Wisk, and I didn't want to buy a different brand because I am allergic to something in Tide and I'm not sure what it is, so I didn't want to spend money on a new brand only to find out that not only am I allergic to it, I now have to re-wash all the clothes. Yuck! So instead, I went to Jewel, with Jeremy accompanying me once again, and got both detergent and foodstuffs.

When we got home, I made dinner (open-faced goat cheese and prosciutto sandwiches on French bread, baked for 10 minutes at 350 until crunchy and toasty, served with pear slices) and played some more Final Fantasy XII. Melzer and herod_the_nut came up to hang out. I did more laundry. Eventually Melzer and herod_the_nut headed downstairs to sleep, and I played a bit more Final Fantasy XII. Then Jeremy went to bed, so I am here fiddling about on LJ. Yes, I spent 75% of my waking hours playing FFXII. Yes, I know I'm a dork. No, I don't care.

FF12 Spoilers: Up to Mt. Bur-OmisaceAlright. So I'm currently running around Paramina Rift like a crazy thing, having met the Gran Kiltias. I have six Golden Amulets, the best equipment gold can buy me, and all the available spells. Of course, only Vaan and Basch can currently equip the Golden Amulets, but everyone else is fairly close. Everyone has two Quickenings. And I am level 30-31. HUZZAH. I like being levelled up.

Henne Mines was annoying, and the Hellhounds in the Golmore Jungle are a bitch and a half because they started gangbanging me and suddenly I'm dead with little warning, despite very conservative Cure gambits. Argh. Paramina seems easier, though I am terrified at the prospect of elementals that will ownz0r me when I am least expecting it.

Al-Cid is hilarious, and I like Larsa, though I don't trust him. Damned Imperial. I think Gabranth/Drace is going to be my minor-character OTP, seriously. I can't wait till I finish this game and get to start ficcing. Joy! And Balthier. I fall more in love with him all the freaking time. He's just so damn awesome. Leading man indeed. He can lead me anywhere he wants. ;) Anyway! Um. I am dorkish. Yes. Moving on. Looking forward to owning the License Board; everyone has all the Augments licensed, and the appropriate amount of weapon/armour licenses. The men have licensed or have opened up almost all the technicks, and the women have licensed all the magicks currently available. Why yes, I am absurd. Fran has graduated from bows to ninja swords, while I've still got Penelo with bows, making her my sole ranged fighter right now. The other two fight with magicks when I find flying critters.

Okay. Coin toss says....working on yuletide since I am not yet sleepy enough for bed.
