Spent about three hours last night playing FFXII, which made me feel a lot better after yesterday's cranky terribleness. (I blame the Full Moon, which was clearly making people go insane.) Some ramblings follow.
Possible spoilers for naming hunts and areas in the game after the Dawn Shard quest.
So, I had done the Patient in the Desert sidequest this weekend, and then ran around the Giza Plains in the Rains for a good long while. I did the Croakadile hunt (that guy? Totally hilarious and reminiscent of Gollum.) I also built the bridge of withered trees, killed four silicon tortoises, and grabbed the feather thing in the Giza Plains that I apparently use for some sidequest later. (Incidentally, the guide layout is ASS. Terrible. I hate it.)
Having done the Croakadile hunt, I headed out into the Westersand and thence to the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea, where I worked my way around the platforms (discovered an elemental and was completely terrified and flailed a lot, but eventually escaped and continued on my way.) I'm at the entrance to the Nam-Yensa Sandsea right now, so I can go up to the Simoon Bluffs and hunt the Wyvern. Once I'm done with that I'm heading off to level up for loot and shinies, since I have just gained access to the Grimoires and must have these things. Yes, I know, I am taking forever to advance the plot, but combat is just so fun.
I've bought more than half the Augment board for everyone, and need to start getting caught up on equipment licenses, technicks, magicks, and accessories since I've been basically dinking around on the Augment board since I first opened it up, buying other licenses on a strictly need-to-have basis. Everyone has all the HP plus licenses except Ashe who's working on +150. Once she has that, I'm going to finish out the Augment board for everyone, buy up some more magick and technick licenses, and then get to work on the second round of Quickenings for everyone. .....Shut up. I like my overlevelling. Anyway! More hunting, so I can open up more hunts.
Do I have to complete all of the Rank II hunts before I can take on any Rank III hunts? Or are they story-based?
