So, Cel was betaing my first fic for aheadonourway and had a random moment of "Ever notice Locke's last name is Cole and he's associate with Kohlingen?" and I mentioned how it's sometimes rendered as "Corlingen" in certain translations from Japanese, and we kind of let it go. Then I was reading celetinachan's new fic chapter on final_fantasy_6 and she mentioned Corlingen, and then the plotbunny ate me.
Going with Cel's comparison, what if Locke's family is/was powerful in Kohlingen? (This actually came about as a critique of some stuff in my story, but anyway.) So Locke has this fuddy-duddy family whose son turns out a treasure hunter because he likes shiny stuff, and I'd kind of like to write that as young-Locke telling his family to shut up and going to do his own thing, and they probably don't approve of Rachel either...
It's a very half-assed bunny, but maybe I'll poke at it some more. The masterlist needs more work, though, as does my trade-fic for first_seventhe. But for now my head hurts and I do not desire to write anything, so I'm going to fiddle around pointlessly for a little while and then cook dinner.
