I think this was a good weekend. I spent Friday night planning Easter Game (many kudos to Melzer for his organizational skills in making that work!) Saturday after my doctor's appointment we had Easter Game. It was a good game overall. Basically, the PC's woke up in a featureless white room and walked outside. There was a newspaper with a story about a city-wide Easter Egg hunt with a fabulous prize, and also the lyrics from Savatage's "Welcome to the System." In-game locations from past years were reprised, namely: Vincentio's back room, Kahuna's Bar and Grille, the cathedral from London, Booty Shakin's, the Tube, the Muse, and Two Doorknobs and a Loaf of Bread.
We also reprised some past characters: Kahuna, Julia Celtann, Alanna O'Connor, Artemis, Christine Anderson (Daae), Casal Baconte. (Also Ted of "Bill and Ted", V of "V for Vendetta" and Zoe from Firefly.) Each of them had an egg and a requirement for what you had to do to get it. Zoe wanted "River" (which resulted in Josh as Alexi dragging Alanna there because he figured Alanna was the closest thing to River, when in fact all she wanted was "the river" from the Texas Hold 'Em tournament in Vincentio's.) Julia wanted a book of Romantic poetry (which resulted in some very amusing robbery attempts on the part of Downey, who stole a Ming vase and brought it to her, and she was Enraptured by it.) Alanna wanted a special performance (more on that in a moment.) Artemis wanted a strand of hair from "the fairest in the land" (i.e. Julia, who was sitting in the cathedral with Majesty up.) Kahuna wanted Smith Ohlrig's bolo tie, which was held by Nicholas Griffin. Casal wanted a piece of music he'd never heard, which meant getting a recording of the Wyld Stallions, who were playing at the Tube. Ted wanted to know where Bill was, which required getting his fortune told by Alanna. V wanted two doorknobs and a loaf of bread (Josh thought V was the Phantom because we didn't have a correct mask, and tried to bring him Christine). There was much general amusement.
herod_the_nut had specified that he wanted to go through all 4 of his past characters and be playing a pre-gen by the end of the night. All year he's been threatening that if his current character dies, he's coming back as a Malkavian belly-dancer named Gratuitous Booty. So we made him a pre-gen of Gratuitous Booty and made every effort to kill him like mad. We succeeded, and gave him Gratuitous Booty, which resulted in him walking around with his jeans rolled up, his shirt tied up around his ribs, dancing and yelling "I want to dance you up!!" He was actually the first person to find out what was really going on in Easter Game: the Technocrats had gotten hold of a bunch of vampires and plugged them into "the Matrix" to find out more about what makes them go. We had Agent Smith, Agent Brown, and Agent Jones. The "Easter Eggs" were the result of the Virtual Adepts hacking the Matrix, and putting enough of them in one place would crash the Matrix and let the vampires find out what was going on. Meanwhile the Agents were desperately trying to recover the eggs. It was fun! Lots of general silliness.
After game we had the usual dinner at Chili's. I came home and curled up to fiddle about online. I was talking with
persona and had last looked at the clock at 1:30. I looked at it again and it said 3:15. I was extremely flipped because I thought I had somehow lost an hour, until I realized my computer is smarter than I am and had auto-adjusted for Daylight Saving Time. *headdesk*
Anyway. Yesterday was quiet. My wrist wrappy things seem to be helping, although I think they're interfering a little with my circulation, but that just means I take them off occasionally to rest my hands.
Exalted tonight! Whee.
EDIT: Kudos to
sabrielrose for the Easter Game concept!
