Morbid? Yes. Did I like it? Also yes. I liked the details of sounds and movements. You're good at capturing them. And the death scene was original....Only once before did I read about someone deliberatly falling through the ice to end it all. It was a nice twist as I thought she was going to kill herself with the ice pick.
I'm eagerly anticipating the sequel where her cancer is cured, good wins, evil loses, Jesus and the Buddha are reborn, and everyone sits in a circle and sings kumbaya. Right?
It was extremely well-written. I love having the "something is wrong and I want to find out what" feeling when I'm reading a story and this definitely evoked that to the extreme.
That's what I was going for, yeah :) I meant to keep the reader confused right up till the last bit as to whether she was going to kill him, leave him, or kill herself.
