Alas, my beach vacation is over.
Friday was wretchedly hot, so instead of soaking up yet more sunburn at the beach, we went minigolfing on the boardwalk. I did very well the first three holes (normally I just suck at minigolf) and Mom commented on how well I was doing, which of course promptly jinxed me all to hell (I went from a hole in one on the first hole and par on 2 and 3, to four over on 4. Ugh.) At least she jinxed herself as well in the process--small comfort.
We ordered from a new seafood restaurant Friday night, and were spectacularly unimpressed with the results. Everything was fried, and over-fried at that. Ugh. Give me good steamed shrimp or crab bisque anyday instead of overcooked seafood dripping grease. Then, since it was our last night in OCNJ, we went roaming. Mom and I got henna tattoos (she has a butterfly on her ankle, and I have a three-cornered Celtic knot on the inside of my forearm.) Then she picked out a shirt and got it embroidered at this place on the boardwalk. We came home and packed.
We got up very early this morning (8 am.....oh God, how I hate early morning) and said goodbye to the family, loaded up the car, and popped up to the boardwalk. Mom retrieved her shirt, I got some Johnson's Caramel Popcorn (best. popcorn. ever.) and Daddy got a 5-pound bag of peanuts. Then we got in the car and drove home. We left around 10:30 and were home around 2:30. I lazed around, chatted some, and played a lot of NWN. (Thanks
calhin for reminding me of the most damned obvious solution in the world.) I finished up the Beggar's Nest and all the little sidequesties; I'm a level 7 half-elven sorceress with a panther familiar, a rogue henchman, 7000 gold to my name, and a Chaotic/Good alignment consisting of Chaotic 15 Good 91. *rolls eyes at self* But yeah, on my way to Blacklake District and the completion of the Zoo quest in addition to killing the next Waterdhavian. I do enjoy this game. I should play it in EV IL more often, but somehow I only ever play it when I'm home.
So now I'm chatting and relaxing. I have a horrendously itchy back thanks to my finally-healing sunburn, but it's all okay. Tomorrow (well, technically, today) is Lughnassadh and it's a full moon. I only wish I had my altar and my rosary and all the rest of my magick tools available, but meditation will have to do as, like a dumbshit, I forgot to pack my rosary.
Off to fiddle with Neopets now, I guess, since I can't AIM and NWN at the same time. Sad!
