Damned insomnia....Slept for a while, woke up and now I can't sleep again x_x Oh well, at least the migraine eased off @.@

Price of Memory

A perfect curve of glowing blue
Holds grace and strength in sculpted form
The sunlight glints on fragile hue
And gathers into pools of warmth

Soft bubbles crown the water's mass
It seems to perfect to be real
A shape enclosed in shining glass
Is rendered in these shades of teal

A flower touched with crimson glow
Is tossed across the window sill
A rose tied with a silken bow
It isn't real, but lovely still

A face with bright blue dancing eyes
Is frozen in a silver frame
A souvenir to memorize
When the sun is masked by rain

And darkness brings the memory
Of days you spent out in the park
And laughed and cried, but now you see
The image fade and leave your heart

A room that's filled with memories
Of days and nights in another time,
Thoughts and dreams, a life in brief,
Preserved amid the soft sunshine.

But time has come to close the door
On years that I spent loving you
I cannot stay here anymore
And now I must begin anew

Without the love you had for me
Without the times you held me close
You haunt me in my waking dreams
But that's the price of the path I chose.

Started that in my Modern China class in spring term, and dug it up tonight while browsing my scribbles of fanfic ideas. Decided to finish it and tacked on the last three stanzas. Yeah. It's even in meter (mostly) and rhyme. Holy God.

Goddamn why is all my poetry so frigging depressing x_x
