Northwestern officially has the most bad-ass professors ever.
I was talking to Professor Kieckhefer this morning about my paper, which is on modern Witchcraft and the extent to which it parallels but does not truly imitate ancient practices, and we had decided that Gerald Gardner was the appropriate source. Well, the library doesn't have Gardner's book, and it's out of print. So, Professor Kieckhefer e-mailed me after our meeting twice. The first was a list of three sites I could use for my paper. The second was an email telling me that he had ordered Gardner's book, and if it didn't turn up at the library he could loan it to me by Monday.
Professors who go that far out of their way to help you find the materials for your paper are just damn awesome. Now I have to write the single most bad-ass paper ever on Witchcraft o_o Daunting task! But I'm pretty sure I could take a rough draft to him early in Finals week and get feedback, so yay.
In other news, I am worn out. Goddamn muses and their "wheee let's be awake at 2:30 and make Meglet write like crazy!" I fell asleep in Modern China, and I had really intended to stay awake and learn about Deng Xiaoping. I tried....but I only lasted about 10 minutes.
Now I'm hoping that UPS gets here with my package before I must depart for Postwar Britain. Really not in the mood to go chasing off to Northbrook in search of packages again.
