What, how is January over already? Where did it go? I don't understand what happened here.
It's been kind of a strange week; paladin is out of town, so I have basically no calls on my time except work. This has resulted in some oddities, like going to bed an hour later than usual but still getting the same amount of sleep because I drift off much faster. (Also a lot of deciding "fuck it, I'm ordering delivery" instead of cooking, because I don't really want to put in the effort for actual cooking when it's just me, and some days even a can of soup or bowl of pasta is more effort than I want. Or I just don't want to eat that thing right then. ANYWAY.)
Work has been rolling out a bunch of new policies (mostly codifying stuff we already knew). One of them was about other work that we do outside the organization. I asked how that related to something like writing - does it count now, does it count only if I am accepted for publication, does it count when I get cash in hand? Apparently that last one is true, but now a bunch of people have wanted to ask me about my writing, which is like. Uhhhhh. (Most of them adorably so - I have lovely coworkers - but it makes me extra awkward turtle about talking about my writing because most of them aren't writers and also do I really want to explain the ridiculousness that is this novel, no, no I really don't.
Anyway, work and writing proceed apace, and February is shaping up to be a super awesome but also super busy month. My Christmas gift from Paladin was a ski trip, so we're doing that on one of my long weekends, and then I get a

seventhe for a whole weekend! It will be so great! I am super excited!
Planning goals for February was quite a thing, I tell you. Trying to remember that not only is it 2-3 days shorter than I'm used to, but also that I'm losing a solid chunk of like 7 days in there, is a hard thing. I have almost certainly overcommitted myself, but OH WELL HERE WE GO. Goals time!
Video Games
In January
* Beat at least one game
* Finish FFXIV patches 3.4 and 3.5
* Get gladiator to level 50
* At least one post for Moogle U
Choose a pre-2008 game to work on and put in at least 3 hours
4 of 5 is a winning ratio as far as I'm concerned. I beat two games; I'm halfway through patch 3.5 right now and will be finishing it as when I get home tonight. I got Gladiator to 54 (probably will hit 55 tonight), and I put in 3 solid hours on A Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.. (Fun fact: the aux cable that came with my Super Nintendo has finally rolled over - look, it took 25 years, this is reasonable - so I ordered a new one and HOLY CROW it's so bright and shiny. Amazing colors.). I didn't manage a Moogle U post because I didn't play XIII with paladin enough, but I still did pretty damn well.
In February
Beat at least one game
At least 5 hours on a pre-2008 game
Paladin to 60 (currently 54), Bard to 60 (currently 50)
At least 2 session of FFXIII
Post to MU
Writing
In January
* Edit at least four chapters of Trilogy 1
* Post four prompt fics
* Request and plan out a GenPrompt Bingo card
* Post one fic of 1k or better
* 15,000 words
Add 2k to 2015 NaNo novel
What's that? 100% completion rate? FUCK YEAH. Well, with one caveat. I did edit 4 chapters of Trilogy 1; I posted nine prompt fics, including two of 1K+, I requested and planned out my bingo card; I managed 15k words overall, and while I did write 2k of original fiction, it was on the 2016 NaNo draft, not the 2015. I still say it counts, by God.
In February
* Edit 4 chapters of Trilogy 1
* Participate in Kiss Battle
* Write 2

genprompt_bingo fics
* Keep up with prompt fics
* 15,000 words overall
* 3,000 words of original fiction (part of prior goal)
Put in at least 3 hours of editing on Every Light
This is ambitious. I suspect I will not make it. But I'm gonna try.
Financial
In January
* Pay off student loan
* Put aside at least $200 for Scotland trip
I did put aside money for Scotland. I did not pay off the student loan, but that's because apparently, although it shows as two loans in the loan manager site, I can't actually do anything with them separately, so I can't pay off just the smaller one. This is bullshit and shenanigans, but I guess it's what I've got. So that's just gonna have to wait until/unless later this year, I can pay it all off (but I suspect my money is going to other things.) Still, progress was made.
In February
* Save $200 toward Scotland trip
* Pack a lunch at least 3 days a week
Health and Spirituality
In January
* Write a basic Full Moon ritual and use it on the 12th
* Meditate once a week for at least ten minutes
* Work out three times a week--mix of yoga and cardio
Make sure I have everything on hand for Imbolc ritual
I DID THE THINGS. ALL THE THINGS. I am very proud of myself, damn it. I haven't much to say about this other than that I think this is the first time I've ever hit my workout goal in full, so fuck yeah, me.
In February
* Imbolc ritual
* Physical activity 3 days a week (ski trip days count!)
* Meditate once a week for at least 10 minutes
Miscellaneous
In January
* Read five magazines
* Read four books, at least one of which is non-fiction or non-comfort, and review
* Daily sudoku calendar
* Practice piano once a week
Complete Winter quadrant of current sewing project
Okay, so I vastly overestimated both my free time, and how quickly I sew (this is a perpetual problem.) So the last bullet point did not happen at all. BUT, I read five magazines, read and reviewed four books (including one that isn't a comfort read), did my sudoku calendar every day, AND practiced piano once a week. I also managed to clear twenty-eight episodes off the TiVo (this is related both to my failure to play FFXIII for Moogle U - as I was doing this with paladin instead of that - and to the fact that I managed to work out, since I watch TiVo stuff while I'm on the elliptical.)
In February
* Meaningful progress on seasonal embroidery
* Piano practice at least once a week
* DW post, twice a week, excluding what are you playing Wednesday posts
* Read and review 4 books
* Read four magazines
So, overall, I succeeded at 19 of 22 goals. This is definitely in my top five success-ratio months, and it was even a damned aggressive goal set, to boot! I am very proud of myself right now.
And now, back to the grindstone, since I spent half of my lunch hour (The half that I didn't spend editing) on this post. XD
