February Roundup, March Goals

Mar 01, 2013 22:40

....Where did February go? Is it under the couch? I seriously legitimately have no idea where this month even went. This is me weeping.

Oh well. It's March 1 by the calendar, whether I agree or not, and thus it is time for a goals roundup!

Video Games
February Goals:
* Beat FF2 for Moogle U; minimum two posts about it as I'm doing so (excluding start/end posts).
* Beat Chrono Cross

I thought about doing Four in February, but with everything else going on, it's just not feasible.

Result: Victory! I beat Chrono Cross and did my duty by FF2 for Moogle U. I did not complete Four in February, though. I'm pretty OK with that.

March Goals:
* Beat FF3 for Moogle U; minimum three posts about it as I'm doing so (excluding start/end posts.) (I am already off to a stellar start with the TPK I gave myself in Kazus.)
* Beat Magical Diary.
* Keep on having awesome times in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Writing
February Goals:
* 15K words
* Leave at least 3 prompts at AreYouGame
* Write at least 3 things for the Kiss Battle
* Write one of the remaining scenes in Trilogy 1

Results: ...Three out of four ain't bad! 15,045 words, I left ten prompts for AreYouGame, I wrote a grand total of 6 things for the FF kiss battle and one for DA. I didn't touch the trilogy, but I've been turning it over in my head all month and I think I finally know what I need to do to get the edits rolling. YES.

March Goals:
* 17K words
* Post all seven of my AreYouGame prompts in a timely manner
* Finish chapter 2 of "Storm Waves"
* Edit and post chapter 1 of "Every Light", since I now have beta notes
* Beat the first six chapters of Trilogy 1 into good shape.

Money
February Goals:
* Save $200 for the wedding.
* Reduce eating-out expenses: breakfast at Starbucks no more than once a week, lunch out no more than twice a week.

Results: Mixed bag. I saved, I did some reduction on eating-out expenses, but not nearly as much as I'd have liked. On the other hand I also paid my taxes and have a lot of money left over (if I had not checked my math a half-dozen times I'd be absolutely certain I was missing things), so net win. (On the other hand I drastically reduced ordering-out for dinner.)

March Goals:
* Continue to reduce eating-out expenses.
* Keep an eagle eye on shopping and don't do much of it.
* Have $300 left at the end of the month for credit cards.

Self
February Goals:
* Conquer at least three things from my pile of shame. All the books with their butts facing outward are books I have bought and not read. Shame on me. I am going to not only read three books, I am going to also post reviews to GoodReads and start actually using the damn site. (This is the other reason why Four in February is unlikely to work for me.)
* Read at least one Exalted Second Edition book I've not yet finished, in prep for 3rd Ed.
* Decide if I want to find a new therapist.
* Once a week, 25 minutes of step aerobics.
* Twice in February, 30 minutes of yoga.
* One DW post a week outside of MU.
* Actually do a damn Imbolc ritual.
* One hour a week of French study outside class.
* Reduce my other inbox by half (currently 43; down to fewer than 21.) Keep the first inbox under control.

Results:
I conquered two things from the pile of shame (though one was from the Kindle pile.) I wrote GoodReads reviews for both. I read two Exalted second edition books. I decided against finding a new therapist, for now. I did not work out basically at all. I did not do an Imbolc ritual or study, and the inbox thing...yeah, DOINK! Kiss Battle ruined that one hard.

March Goals:
* Conquer two more things from the Pile of Shame.
* Put books on wish list; don't buy them.
* Start Graceful Wicked Masques and read at least two chapters.
* Twice a week, 25 minutes of step aerobics.
* Twice in March, 30 minutes of yoga.
* One DW post a week outside of MU.
* Unfuck my habitat: two 20/10s per week minimum.
