STICK A GODDAMN FORK IN IT

Oct 31, 2012 19:07

On November 1, 2006, I wrote the first chapter of Every Light Casts A Shadow.

Today, I wrote the last.

It has taken me six years, 174,000 words, and innumerable pleas for encouragement and petting and reassurance, but finally it is done.

Obviously, I still have to edit it (and I am very, very lucky that
celeloriel loves me!), but for now I'm just going to sort of sit here and bask in the fact that I have a draft. The thing is fucking done.

and now, I am going to go ice my wrists in preparation for the start of NaNoWriMo tomorrow. Who's a genius who decides to write the last 12.5K of a massive fucking six-year project in the two weeks before NaNo starts? Yeah, this chick.

But I like the symmetry of it.

(as usual, I am Lassarina at NaNoWriMo; come friend me! Join me in the rush to 50k!)

I've posted this at http://lassarina.dreamwidth.org/1057996.html and you may comment there or here. On Dreamwidth, this entry has
