The sad thing is I totally could have done it much sooner if I hadn't believed the strategy guide when it was all like YOU MUST MAX OUT ULTIMATE WEAPONS. I had Lightning's Omega Weapon at level 91 (and was getting really sick of grinding for ultracompact reactors) and decided to see what I could do with that plus catalyzed-but-not-upgraded Nue and Kain's Lance against Vercingetorix. Paladin sat there and cheered me on and watched for Wicked Whirl captions, and I took him out on the second or third try and was like "fffff I wasted SO MANY HOURS upgrading this fucking weapon fuck that

I used Level 1 weapons when I went for five-star. XD I found the guide to be really, really excellent in general with two exceptions: 1) how to kill a Long Gui (answer: Lightning as Saboteur and summon Odin, then Elixir, then summon Odin again) and 2) five-starring Orphan.

Probably! I actually really liked the grinding tips; up until clearing the final boss, they worked REALLY well for me. (Then I just looped goddamned Adamantortoises for Mark 63 over. And over. And fucking over. aaaaaagh. Money, why so rare?)
