I do not know why I am so tired come the weekend, these days, but I could really do with getting rid of this. I fell asleep before 11 on Friday night, and slept until 8:30. Then took an hour and a bit nap yesterday afternoon, with the cat.
But I did get a few things of note accomplished yesterday; namely, I got my hair cut. And it is fabulous. Pics below the cut: three of me, and two of Ganon being silly and adorable.
I make a fabulous redhead.
Last night we went down to
bobbler's place for Pirate Party VII. I saw a lot of people I haven't seen in a while, and had fun chatter. I did not dress up, because closet cosplay failed me and I didn't really like my one closet cosplay option.
Today, I am watching football and preparing for awesome dinner; Mike made creme brulée this morning that is chilling in the fridge presently, and then made us egg-white omelettes filled with cheddar and onion from the leftover egg bits from the creme brulée. Sometime later I will toss the giant beef roast I bought into the oven with some onion soup mix and a couple cans of cream of mushroom soup, and eventually there will be mashed potatoes and peas. Meanwhile, Mike is cooking a chicken in the crock pot so we can pull it into shredded bits and douse them with barbecue sauce, and that shall be our lunch all week.
Weekends should always be for cooking. :D
And lastly, I want to interact with DW/LJ more and post stuff, and
noarrows had a nifty 30-day meme that caught my eye: the 30 day video games meme.
Day 1: Your First Video Game
As near as I can remember, it was Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo. My dad bought a NES as soon as I was the recommended age (8), and I started out with good ol' SMB/Duck Hunt. We later acquired Slalom and The Legend of Zelda. (I now have an impulse to go pick up Slalom, if it's out on VC. I bet I'd be a lot better at it now!)
First games for successive consoles are as follows:
Super Nintendo: Super Mario World
GameBoy (original flavour): The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
N64: Goldeneye (I actually never owned Mario 64 until
timeshaper handed over the DS port when I bought his DS from him.)
PlayStation: Final Fantasy VII
GameBoy Colour: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
PlayStation2: Final Fantasy X
GameBoy Advance: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
GameCube: Super Smash Bros.
Nintendo DS: Mario 64 (first one I *bought* was New Super Mario Bros., I think)
Wii: Super Smash Bros. Brawl!
PSP: Final Fantasy Tactics: the War of the Lions
XBOX 360: Blue Dragon (which I still haven't played--I decided to play Lost Odyssey first.)
PlayStation3: ...well. The first one we bought that I would play is Valkyria Chronicles; the first one that was played was God of War Collection (played by paladin); the first one *I* played was Final Fantasy XIII.
And we see a pattern: I buy consoles pretty much when my must-haves come out for them. XD
