katamari-singing man introduced me to a wonderful site, lang-8.com, which is a fantastic place to practice and get corrections on your writing. So, I will cease writing nihongo kwakkery here. I am actually quite amazed that this site has the community that it does. I've made two posts, and both have received corrections and help within an hour or two. It is also neat being able to help other people with English. The site makes it really easy to offer corrections on a per sentence basis. Simple, but effective.
