so, i was reading my friend's post where she took the first sentence or so from the first post of every month starting in January 2006 and I decided I'd do it too...well guess what? I stopped writing in September! I was kind of shocked - I knew I hadn't updated that much but I haven't written anything since September. So here goes, a very brief run down...
First and foremost, Happy Holidays everyone! My parents came for up for the holidays - arrived on saturday and left yesterday. It was really really nice. Yesterday I came down with a cold/flu in the matter of 2 or 3 hours at work. This morning it's really gross - I have that gross tasting phlegm - you know the one...
What's new, what's new - I did quit my YMCA job...it wasn't as hard to quit as I thought it would be and I don't regret it one bit. I'm back at Tuition Management Systems - egh. It could be worse - it's money in the bank, a steady income, nice people, we'll see. My 2007 resolution is to be more successful. And run one more day a week.
I've started baking - it's become a huge stress reliever for me - so if you come over and there are 2 cakes, cookies and a loaf of bread you'll know it's been sort of a hectic week!
I've made a handful of friends - mostly Mike's co-workers but one of my own. She was a co-worker but lucky her got out of there. It's nice to have someone to call up who isn't a million miles away.
Mike and I went to Montreal a few weeks ago - he loved it. So we'll be going back soon.
We got a cat!!!!!!! Her name is Fannie and she's wonderful. She's so cute and friendly - we got her from the pound, so she's actually about 4 or 5 years old. The only problem is that she wakes me up around 4:30am to eat - but it's so friggin cute the way she nudges me with her head and licks my face!
Oh and my goal is to be able to run a half-marathon by the summer time. I'm going to start training next week - I'm having to use a treadmill which sucks but it's ok. My dad ran one this past summer and I'm so inspired by him.
Mike is still at Equal Exchange and loves it so much which is great. He has really nice co-workers and it's a really cool environment.
And that's basically it - if I think of anything else I'll actually update and I'll leave you with my year in review:
January 2006: let's see...the holidays were nice
February 2006: I'm currently sending out resumes for jobs in Providence, RI. It's such a crazy task
March 2006:so i know you haven't heard a peep out of me in quite a while. the main reason being that i've had what's now been dubbed as the "boone funk" - a flu-like cold-like feeling of death that lasts for weeks on end - not to mention that i have had pink eye for a week and a half now.
April 2006: gatlinburg is one of the lamest places on earth. but mike and i had fun anyway
May 2006: so we've been here for just under a week now. it still doesn't feel like "home" but i'm not super sentimental or anything.
June 2006: i just want everyone to know that i got a LAME JOB.
July 2006: happy canada day everyone! today we get the keys to our new apartment
August 2006: i may have just gotten a job. or rather, i just had an "interview" and basically have to make up my mind by tomorow.
September 2006: So, i think i might quit my job. I think I will have a resignation letter ready for them by Monday.
And that's all she wrote...I like how August flows into September so well...
Anyway, that's it for now. Hope everyone is doing well!
