My 1990s Nostalgia post
So I devoted the first half of today to watching old stupid cartoons from the 1990s: I watched the "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" series (based on "Return of the Killer Tomatoes") which I had nearly forgotten existed until I YouTubed it, and I watched "Mighty Max." Some kind souls put full seasons of those shows up on YouTube, hahaha! I never thought I'd see them again -- not that I really need to. The Killer Tomatoes cartoon is so bad that it hurts. It's the kind of show that I would write an entire article on, given I had the motivation to do so right now.
I couldn't find a full episode of the "Police Academy" cartoon on YouTube, but I did find the opening sequence, which makes me mourn the death of the show.
Other bad cartoons that I kind of want to see again are the "Crash Test Dummies," "Littlest Pet Shop" and "Blooper" cartoons. Does anybody remember Blooper? He was like, a big blue dog, and he had a bunch of dog friends, and a black siamese cat friend who knew karate? I know I'm not making this up, but my Google results for it leave something to be desired. I know at one point there were episodes on VHS, because when I was a kid I rented them.
ANYWAY. I also watched some great toy commercials from the 90s (and earlier). I watched and drooled over Doctor Dreadful ads - that shit was gooooood. I kind of really miss it. I found some Creepy Crawlers ads too! I never realized that toy was so old! Although I guess it makes sense, given the age of the Easy Bake Oven.
Seriously, I could watch toy commercials forever.
