Character Name: Amodai
Race: Demon

History:
General:
n rabbinic lore, Lahash was a great angel who, with the aid of Zakun, led 184 myriads of spirits to snatch away the prayer of Moses before it could reach God (the prayer to extend Moses’s life). When Lahash met Moses, he felt pity and refused to complete the task at hand. Zakun was forced to finish it alone.

Wagers were made, as they had been many times between Lucifer and God. Lahash was a divine being by nature, yet did a very unholy act without provocation by going against God’s wishes. God sentenced him to punishment at Lucifer's hand with a curious wager. Could Lucifer break Lahash of all that was holy within him? For this attempt at interference with divine will, Lucifer (Samael) metes out the punishment on Lahash by “binding him with fiery chains, flogging him with 70 stripes of fire, and expelling him from the divine presence.”

Broken, he allowed any bit of Holy Light to be drawn from his body and his form taking that of a demon. The only remnants of his once beautiful Heavenly Form are his wings which are now stained black and ragged as if tar has been poured over the once white feathers. Upon taking this new form he took a new name, Asmodai. Banished, lost, and corrupted, he was left to wander for years till seeking refuge in Hell after pledging his mind and body over.

In the Book of Tobit Asmodai is attracted to Sarah, Raguel's daughter, and is not willing to let any husband possess her. He slays seven successive husbands on their wedding nights, thus impeding the sexual consummation of the marriages. When the young Tobias is about to marry her, Asmodai proposes the same fate for him. Tobias is enabled, through the counsels of his attendant angel Raphael, to render him innocuous. He produces a smoky vapor that causes the demon Asmodai to flee to Egypt, where Raphael binds him for several centuries.

Asmodai would thus seem to be a demon characterized by carnal desire; but he is also described as an evil spirit in general. It is stated in vi.14, that “Asmodai loved Sarah,” implies that he was attracted not by women in general, but by Sarah only. He was rejected not only by the smoke brought by Tobias, but also by Sarah. She would not return his love because of his unholy nature. These are some of the many deep seated reasons he warps the desires of man in an attempt to ruin them.

Asmodai is referred to as one of the seven ‘Princes of Hell’. Each one of these princes represents one of the seven deadly sins (Pride, Lust, Envy, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Wrath). Asmodai is the demon of lust and is therefore responsible for twisting people's sexual desires. It is said that people who fall to Asmodai's ways will be sentenced to an eternity in the second level of Hell.

The origin of Asmodai’s birth is conflicting; According to the Kabbalah and the school of Rashba, a succubus, mated with King David and bore a cambion son Asmodai. He has also been recorded as the off-spring of the union between Adam and the angel of prostitution, Na’amah, conceived while Adam was married to Lilith.

Enslaved Specifically:
A few thousand years buried in the sand was enough to put a man in a sour mood. So, imagine his delight at finding he's come to a revived world were angels can be bought and sold? He's entirely to delighted, and suffering from what can only be called madness, he likes to sell one or two, and those he can't sell? He breaks.
