Oh! Almost forgot to say...
There was a fox crossing the road as I was driving home. An actual, honest-to-goodness grey fox. I didn't even know we had those here. Much less in the tiny patch of woods near my neighborhood, which I thought was too small to be territory to anything but a few squirrel and rabbit colonies and the occasional hawk. But no, there's a fox. And it's beautiful. And knowing that wildlife exists here makes me warm and happy inside.
