bliss is this

Sitting on the porch with my "sister-in-law" (as in, she's my brother-in-law's girlfriend, but they might as well be married) this afternoon, watching the kids splash around in the wading pool, I remarked to her that every day should feel like just then. Content, somewhat sleepy, relaxed, surrounded by those you love.

It was a good weekend.

Yesterday ninevah and I watched some Doctor Who, ran some errands, treated Nin to some Five Guys Burgers and Fries, came home for Boo's nap. Afterward I took Boo to the park by our house and then ran some errands by myself. (An aside: I had to trick Boo in order to get to the car without him, and he threw himself on the ground and cried for five minutes after I left; he REALLY wanted to come with. Way to feel like a mean mommy.)

This morning Boo and I ventured to the greenhouse across the street and got a few plants, tomato and parsley. He thought it was a grand adventure. We all eventually headed out to the in-laws for the afternoon. After the amazing food and the amazing company, we amazingly headed out and made it home before total darkness fell. Even more amazingly, Boo didn't fall asleep on the ride home!

It's also my dad's birthday today. I hope he got the birthday card with the pictures of Boo in time.

Happy Father's Day.
