The king of carrot flowers

I was listening to the Elvis Perkins single, "While you were sleeping" and it reminded me alot of Neutral Milk Hotel, so I decided to give "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" a spin because I haven't for a few years. I'm reminded of how sad, sometimes joyful, and completely beautiful this records is. I know that the record is loosely based on Anne Frank, but I just read in wikipedia that Jeff Magnum had reoccuring dreams of a Jewish family in WWII. I think that makes the record that much more mysterious in some ways. If you haven't listened to the record for awhile it's time to bring it out, and if you've never heard it, please do yourself a favor and listen to it. You won't hear music the same way again.
