So. I, for some reason have it in my head...alright, let's call it for what it is, I for some reason have been obsessive over designing myself a new layout. The thing is, many of you know I can throw one together in a day if I just sit and do it. It's not hard at all if you have no qualms about absolute positioning, the w3c screaming oh gods no, and fixed resolutions only. Not this time. Nope, this time I am stuck on the idea that the next layout I create for LJ will not only be a "liquid" design (<--see, that should have been your first clue), but also xhtml and css compliant via w3c. I have accomplished this on my personal website....but LJ is a whole other beast entirely. Liquid...seriously, what the fuck was I thinking. Up till now I was content with the pages rendering the same in IE and firefox...and I see this occur with absolute positioning, but as soon as I enter the territory of floats.... all hell breaks loose in the battle of IE and FF. Right now I am really angry at IE, and feel they cannot release v.7 quick enough. I know it's in beta right now, but come-on ya bunch of turd blossoms...hurry up. Allegedly, many of compliancy and better css2 will be implemented. I have pretty much made the switch over to FF, but as long as IE dominates, I need to consider it. Oh, and I have also learned that if you are using LJ's photobuilder or what ever the hell it's called in a style sheet for bg purposes...it will not siplay in IE at all. That's some funky shite if you ask me. Y'all bored to tears yet? It's ok, I'm finally realising how much I just don't know. Am tempted to regress back to absolute positiong, something i know works...regardless of which freaking browser. Some may say...well you can degrade to a lower resolution just fine with absolute, that is if you have the graphic skills to pull it off. Im not sure I am ready to have my graphic capabilitites shattered at the moment...as my web design faith has just plumeted like the hindenburg.
Oh the humanity.
*edit* List menu's, I keeeeelllll you dead! Follow the freaking margin declarations ya schlob!
