So I spent the better part of this evening stuck in a church basement that reeked of must and peanut butter. eww. Election seminars were held again, and as usual I just don't want to do it, as the last election (yes, that one) was a total fiasco and I just assume at this point in my life I am disenchanted with the electoral process of our nation, I don't believe in it, as an election official I feel horrible encouraging others to vote stating that "your vote counts", when it just does not. Usually the seminars are only about an hour and a half, but were extended to an influx of workers who are approximately two days younger than god, and having to explain the difference between using paper ballots and the new cpu based machines *headslam x's infinity*.
After I went to the store to grab a few things for dinner and encountered the most fucked up mother. My apologies to the moms on my flist, as I understand as a non parent I have no right to comment, but seriously.....at store (a small bodega)and a woman who has to be 30 at the youngest has twins who looked to be about 2 1/2 or 3. One is sitting in front of the front door screaming it's head off, while the mom is in the back of the store screaming.."shut the fuck up".*cringes* I get in line to pay and people are trying to get in and out of the store when one of the twins walks out. She does nothing, absolutely nothing. I turned and said lady...your kid just walked out side by itself, and she said he'll be fine, so i asked her, even if he walks into the middle of the street? Yeah, I meddled,so be it. She huffs and gets him, drags him in by his arm and screams at him,I swear to god "I'm going to fuck you up". On so many levels was I pissed and was pulled out of the store by my neighbor as he recognized that look on my face....the one where start turning the rings on my fingers inside out. She doesn't deserve those babies, and at 3 years old they are already tainted.
In other news, we got the last of the tree that collapsed in our yard cut down today. Yes, I finally learned to use a chainsaw, which as I know it will shock others, I had never used one before. The upside of all of what happened last week was that we had already known that the tree was diseased and needed to be removed but we were quoted 500$ to do so, seems mother nature took pity on us and took care of it for us. good, too, is that our phone line is now permanently repaired...meaning no more issues when it rains, snows, or ices up, though I really could have done without the phone line being ripped from the back facade of the house, and the back window on the shed being punched out too by branches. *serenity now....hoochie mamma*
I will concede to at least the hounds were in the house instead of the yard or it could have been a really bad scenario. I did get some amusing pictures though for insurance purposes, including one of the phone repair man being attacked by my dogs. Poor man was pushed to the ground and licked by three rottweilers, but he has boxers so all was good.
heh, see I promised boring and I delivered.
oh wait, no I can get even more dull...found out in May my Sanitation License expires, so it seems I will be taking re certification within the next month...um......this is a 4 hour exam that I have not had to practice in almost 5 years. Charming.
Lastly though it should have been first.....Happy belated Bithday to
