I hate this school year. Not all of it is bad, but the bad parts are enough to ruin it for the good parts. World History is bad because I am NOT a note-taking person, but we are required to write down every single thing, type it up, and turn it in. English AP was fun, but now it's mostly troublesome because about a million people have joined our class (12 or 13 is about a million, right?, especially when the class was originally 11 people). Math is still good, they haven't added anyone to our class, and it's pretty easy. Dance is fun. American Cinema is...alright. I'm horrible at doing those worksheets, because if I stop to write something down, I'll never know what happens next in the movie (that's how I missed the end of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington in Civics). Next week we get to make movies, though (yay!). Art is lovely, though. Even thoguh I draw slowly nd am probably too much of a perfectionist, people say they like my picture. School is horribly unorganized this year, also, and not just because of Katrina. It's because the people who were in charge of some things didn't et it ups well at the end of last year or just left without telling others how they were doing things. That's why we don't have club passes or any of that sort of thing yet, while we would normally have all of that stuff figured out by now. We've been in school for 6 weeks, and the only thing that's been accomplished is SGA elections (which shoud have been at the end of last year), the beginning of Quiz Bowl practice, and grades being turned in.
Swim practice is just not very fun. Sometimes it makes me mad.
Dance class is probably the best thing tis year. Its very fun, and it makes me happy. It usually cheers me up very well. That is one of the only reasons I would be sad about going away for college. If I went to LSU, I could still go to my dance school.
Traffic is also monsterous. I'm starting to dislike one of my favorite roads (River road). Most of the time, I'm really luck and leave home at just the right time. When I was going to swim practice yesterday, though, I was so happy that I didn't have to go in the other direction. There was a policeman directing traffic at river road and brightside, and river road going south was backed up forever. I don't know how far, because I had to turn off, but I could not see the end of the line. I am not looking foreward to Monday, because they apparently moved the LSU/Tennessee football game to then at 6:30. I have dance at 6:30, and since they usually block the roads off so they're all heading to the stadium until kickoff, I'll probably be late going in the other direction. But I guess it's okay, because football is the most important thing in the world. Nothing comforts me more when the Gulf coast is being plagued by monster hurricanes than to know that LSU will still play football.
Oh, and this, which
7whiteroses tagged me for: List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they are any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist, and the song in your Live Journal along with the seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1. Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey
2. Appalacian Spring - Aaron Copeland
3. I Feel Pretty - from West Side Story
4. Lovely Rita - The Beatles (how ironic)
5. LaLa - from The Lion King
6. Dancing Queen - ABBA
7. some random songs from "Big"
and, uh, because I don't really know anyone, I won't tag anyone
