Sort of description of my vacation. Since I haven't been here for a few days to even read or comment on other people's entries, I feel I must give some account. If you don't want to read it, you can just scroll; It's not long and I don't want to learn how to do one of those cut things now.
I got back yesterday evening. My trip was pretty good, actually, very good for only being a few days long. I went to Austin and visited UT Austin. Nice school. Apparently, they have a museum also, and in the museum are various famous/important things, but the one they mentioned that just kind of stuck in my head was Vivien Leigh's red velvet dress. So I thought that was interesting. Apparently they also film Austin City Limits in the basement of one of the buildings there. I never actually watch that show, but the little clips I've seen of it give the impression that it's outside...But it isn't. They have trees and such like in the studio, and it's filmed inside. Next we drove to Houston. We went to an Astros baseball game. Good game; it was close. 1-0 for a while, and then 1-1. Then, for the bottom of the 9th, the Phillies brought out a new pitcher and spent a while getting him all warmed up. 1st pitch - Astros hit a home run and won. Minute Maid Park/Stadium (can't remember the exact name) is weird, though. No where there could we find Minute Maid (or any othe brand, for that matter, but why would they sell another brand?) Orange Juice! We were pleasantly surprised when we found lemonade. And there were pictures of oranges everywhere! On the last day, we visited Rice. Very nice school. Yale and Rice remind me of Hogwarts with the way they're set up. It will be very hard for me to get in, though, because I would apply to the college of archiechture, and they only accept about 25 students/year. Then we came home.
So, school starts in about 2 weeks. I'm kind of looking forward to it.
