Whats in a name
Hi Folks!
As some of you will know, my name is famous. Me personally no, I'm not famous, it's just my name is :-(
What am I going on about? Well I share the same name as a successful comedian.
Yep. So what?
Well try ringing up somewhere and giving the name of a famous person and see what a reaction you get.
Yep, they don't believe you. You then have to spend a minute or two explaining to them that you really are not so and so and that another 'person' has got in first with your/his name and all chance of your becoming famous (and more importantly rich) has bitten the dust at the first step ;-)
Imagine what it's like when it's the police you're ringing to report a bike that you think is stolen!
Now they've taken the bike details all serious like and when they get to your name, you hear the tone in their voice that says you're taking the p**s with them and am about to get a telling off :-/ So then, you really have fun explaining you're being serious and your wife's bike has disappeared from outside the house.
But it gets worse. The next day you get news that your wife had a dotty moment, left the bike outside church, forgot about it and then it got put somewhere safe by the caretaker for her so it wasn't visible from the street.
Now try ringing the police, tell them that story and give your name with a straight face!
Now try explaining all that to the police and then give your name!
