the best advice my grandmother gave my mother was to always wear clean underwear. for the reason that if on the off chance that my mother got in a car accident and the paramedics were called, she would spare her self and her family the embarrassment of being treated, or dying, in dirty underthings.
i cannot remember the last time i saw my grandmother sober.
