A Few Questions...
Have I posted this before? I don't know. But maybe ya'll can help me answer some questions based off of common threads running through fanfiction....
1. What is it with the Doctor vs. toasters? It seems like its either a) attacking him in some form or other or b) he is tinkering with it to the point of no repair. Personally, I think a blender would suit him more- much more gears and fiddly bits, and a sonic blender makes more sense then a sonic toaster. But that's just me.
2. Laundry. Apparently the Doctor doesn't wash clothes. I understand that the TARDIS probably takes care of his clothing or he just sonics it dry, but surely when he was stuck on Earth in his third incarnation he had to learn some domestics? the TARDIS was disabled, after all, so he had to run to a local laundromat every so often. Maybe? No?
3. The distinct lack of slappage, especially with Ten. Come on, people, he so deserved it, isn't that what fanfiction is for, fixing the episode's mistakes?
4. The Doctor and Rose vs. Babies. Either he's sterile or they're popping out several dozen (ok, not really, but every kid!fic I've read have them with 3+ kids). I understand wanting to repopulate his lost race etc, but I don't think Rose would take kindly to being the Eve to his Adam. Why can't they just have a normal amount of kids like most people? And where does the whole sterility thing come from? If most humanoid figures come from humans themselves as canon hints at (or Time Lords since they came first?) why can't gallifreyans and humans procreate? Some people talk about a 'pythia's curse', but I don't know where that comes from. Is that classic!who canon?
5. During some FoB rewrites with Rose, it has John still falling in love the Matron anyway. Not all, mind, but some. I mean, John still dreamt of Rose, drew her in her journal, and even in human form he couldn't talk of his feelings of her, just like the Doctor. Face it, she was his dream girl even as a human, and if she were there in person I can't help but feel that the matron would just be a good friend. So what's with the John/Matron and Rose having Reinette feels all over again?
I might think of more later, but that's all that puzzling me for the time being. Plus my brain is fuzzy from organic chemistry so I can't think straight anymore anyway. Any ideas as to why these make sense? Anyone?
