A thought just hit me right now, so hear me out....
The Ninth Doctor picks up Rose in 2005.
He brings her back in 2006.
Assuming she spent around two years with him 'real time' (based on the seasons she was with him, lol), wouldn't that mean Jackie was still in her original universe in 2007, when Rose was with 10? Because Rose and 9 couldn't very well go back during that year she was presumed missing, and Christmas 2006 came and went when 9 regenerated. Which means that Jackie went through the year with the Master, and Rose visited her during that time.
Unless Rose and the Doctor only visited her every couple of weeks so their 'visits' spanned the course of a few months, but Jackie wanted Rose to visit more, which suggests it's a month or so between? Maybe more? Dang it, I want timey-wimey shenanigans with the Master >:(
(though, tbh, Jackie might beat the Master in a fight any day)
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but until I go and verify it with canon, that's gonna be my official take on the matter xD
ETA: I just remembered that for Martha, Canary Wharf already happened. So does the Master take place in 2008, or did the writers conveniently forget about the whole year-gone-missing thing? Well, then again, wouldn't be the first time it happened....
