There is a lovely gentleman who has recently started to get on the bus with me in the mornings. He's an amazing man as he is still going to work aged 86!!!!!!! ( Oh and hosting one day golf tournaments at Creiff Golf course!!!!)
Recently he told me that he and his wife will be celebrating their Diamond anniversary in January. I asked him if they would be getting their telegram from the Queen, to which he replied that he didn't know that they could do that and didn't know how to.
So, I went on line and printed off the information for him, it only took two minutes to do that and another 2 to explain to him what I was giving him and that if he didn't want to fill out a form the Births Deaths and Marriages in Edinburgh will notify the palace on his behalf for a small fee. he thanked me very much and I thought that was the end of it.
This morning, he presented me with a lovely and rather pricey bottle of wine for my efforts! Isn't that fabulous???
So, not matter how cruddy today is I have had a lovely start to the day and will be sharing my wine with the Omega Squadron officers tomorrow!!!!!
