So if you're looking for something to do this Friday and want to have fun and donate to a great cause at the same time, come to A Cappella Against AIDS benefit concert. It's an annual fundraiser, put on by UC Choral Ensembles, and we donate all proceeds to AIDS Project East Bay, and organization committed to community outreach, focusing on AIDS education, counseling, and prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS.
The concert will feature 10 Cal choruses, including UC Men's Octet, California Golden Overtones, Cal Jazz Choir, Noteworthy, Perfect Fifth, UC Mens and Womens Chorales, Artists in Resonance, and Decadence.
The concert will be this Friday (tomorrow) at 8pm in 155 Dwinelle. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 general. Tickets can be purchased in 72 Cesar Chavez Center (basement level) until about 1pm tomorrow or at the door. You can buy tickets online at
http://tickets.berkeley.edu too.
It should be a night full of great music and lots of fun, with the chance to raise awareness about this cause and money for this amazing organization. Plus, I worked my butt off planning it. And
taosterman was cool enough to publish a story about it in today's Daily Cal. And he rocks. And you will too, but only if you come. So come. Please. Seriously...it's for a really good cause and, for some reason, this concert has one of the lowest attendances. So help out with the cause and listen to awesome music...including yours truly, who will be singing and making an ass of herself MC'ing.
